years ago I had a Facebook account - because lots of people linked stuff there.
I never ever posted anything to anybody on that account.
despite have Friends Requests limited to Friends of people on my Friends list . . .
and I had zero people listed as "Friends" . . .
every day the account would get 10-20 "Friends Requests" from really really odd people.
which I finally deciphered were hacked accounts with porn sites embedded in the account photo/videos.
later it came out that Facebook sold elevated privileges, so cretins could bypass any and all Facebook 'rules' - which is how, not being a Friend of my (non-existent) Friends list - they could bombard my account with porn spam.
closed the account. some years later when I attempted to open a Facebook account, they demanded my cell phone number.
I responded with a "FU2Facebook" and refused their intrusion.
about a month ago, tripped on a Facebook group / link focused on cooking oysters - and having a 'thing' for oysters, set up a new Facebook account so I could participate in the group.
today I'm notified my account has been suspended for violating Facebook terms.
I never posted anything.
my Facebook activities were limited to reading the "message board" of the oyster group.
they want my phone number
they want a picture of me so they can verify the account.
my picture? against what-in-the-hell exactly are they going to verify that against?
I sent them a pix of my cat.
