The Country thread

While listening to some recomended tunes from "the rock thread", I tuned in some classic country on www.pandora.com

I requested Patsy Kline. As part the mix, Pandora came up with some other noteables that I like too, like

Jean Shepherd
Marty Robbins
Brenda Lee
Merle Haggard
Johnny Cash
Loretta Lyne
Tammy Wynette

Anybody else in to country?

I like it all, but find listening to Pop-40 country on the local stations leaves me yearning for a few classics too. A little Country Swing mixed in is kinda nice too:thumb:

Cool find!! I like the ability to get my kind of oldies country music. Pandora is now a bookmark on my computer.....:thumb:

Cool site. I need to play with it some.

I like the artists you listed but for more day-to-day listening I prefer to listen to the artists that came directly after most of those.
Travis Tritt
Clint Black
George Strait
Reba Macintyre
Tanya Tucker
...

I also like some of the newer stuff:
Toby Keith
Big & Rich
Alan Jackson
LeAnn Rimes
...

I'm a rock n roller from way back, but with nothing new coming out I got bored and tried new country and found I like a good bit of it.

Like BC I like
Toby Keith and Big & Rich.
Taylor Swift is so young beautiful and talented.
Over the past year Bon Jovi, Lynard Skynard & the Eagles have all had songs on the country charts and on CMT & GAC cable stations. At least those two station still show music videos. MTV and VH1 have more shows that videos whenever I surf by the channels.
I never thought I'd like George Straight, but he put out a couple of winners this year that I really liked. However, I still have not acquired the taste for the old country standards.
One of my favorite songs now is by Blake Sheldon "The more I drink, the more I drink". What a funny video that is. :thumb:

Excellent find! I like an eclectic mix and sometimes struggle to find similar artists I may not be familiar with. This site takes care of that....:thumb:

Did everyone else get 15 minutes (or so) then a stoppage until a registration is performed?
