It seems that household taps are not made as well as they used to be overall.

What are good brands to buy, need to replace my kitchen taps.

We have used a Groeh kitchen tap for 10 plus years and has been trouble free and going strong.
A little pricey but well worth the extra money.

I would say away from Moen and Delta. All of it from China, and in my experience, pure junk.
Pfister is my first choice,
Kohler is my 2nd choice.

Pretty sure we have all of the above. For the most part, they've all performed OK. The thing I like, is most come with a lifetime warranty which we've used more than once.
We installed 6 Kohler toilets in the past few years. A couple have had issues and I'll probably not use Kohler going forward. Will probably use TOTO or American Standard if I have to replace.

in 2012 we installed 3 delta shower faucets. The single handle type where you set the temp once, then just turn on the water. Very handy as you don't have to play with hot cold to adjust temp every time you get in shower.
One of the faucets leaked and delta has a life time warranty. Their service folks helped figure out what I needed to fix the drip and sent the parts out along with a link to a video how to install. Very happy with Delta. .

As for toilets, we installed one Gerber comfort height toilet. Loved it. Since have upgraded all other toilets in the house to Gerber. Top notch and love comfort height. When traveling and have to use the non comfort ones it sure feels weird. LOL
