I tend to recieve a lot of calls for for my services as a snow cat operator my latest is another trip to pilgram with 500 gallons of gas in 2 250 gallon totes last time i did this i had to use a sled which with all the aeras blown clear of snow i took a beating running in the ditch so a couple of summers ago i aquired a tracked trailer the trailer had a removable box on it but was not configured to haul large bulk so i built a 6 x 8 foot flat deck on it just finnished it up the paint hasn't even dried now tomorrow i will go pick up some 3/4 ply wood to deck it with and it will be done it should come in handy now for carting all kinds of stuff around

yes float right across the bare ground the trailer also pulls nice behind the jeep which makes a great off road trailer when moving materials across the tundra

Are those tracks and wheels from a surplus Kristi that you found at the junk yard? :whistling:

they look that way but the trailer is from a little tracked rig about the size of a cushman called an otter

we hauled about 75 gal to a tower today in oregon . then returned back with a bad backup gererator.
we also hit several patches of no snow.

Jim

how many do you need i have to pull one f my old tracks out of the snow and take a few off for kl3dm i can get some for you too

i finnished up my trailer tonight and loaded the fuel totes hoping i get the go ahead but there seems to be some contract issues with the contractor if they arn't resolved in a couple of days the trip will be off. kind of a shame i got a good deal on some salvage steel but the ply wood cost 50 bucks a sheet thats 400 bucks total with out labor the trailer will pay off next year during moose season though i can load the quad on it than use it for a tent base to

Hello Don, love the twinsonic light bar i have an MX7000 mounted on my Bombi i also have two twinsonics they are a sweet lightbar.

thanke my truck has an aerodynic bar i had the twin sonic laying around when the strobe bit the dust i decided to throw it up there makes for some psycadelic effects when running in a storm

You need a couple stake pockets for side boards and tie downs yet. Do you take any pigs along in case of spills?

the angle on the sides gives me a a great place to tie down but i've been thinking about a hinge system that will allow me to remove boards or drop the sides to load over the side or haul over size bulk.

it sucks as i will noyt use it now as the university could not resolve the contract with the geophysical outfit in time so the project is off for this year just got the word today i'm betting i will use it for other stuff i have a roaad into camp i have to build up i plan on towing the trailer with pallets in to the soft spots so i can have a way to cross the soft spots with my jeep

This is a really old post, but I like the concept of a tracked sled instead of skids. Has it been working out well?
