Snowmaster/tracmaster exhaust

New member
Took my first good ride in the master since we now have about a foot on snow on the ground in eastern New york. What a grunt!!! You guys have probably discussed this before, but!!!! I need to replace my muffler. I have #868 a 2-person cab. With the exhaust going out the right side fender, It comes back in the right side window. Where is the best place to route the exhaust so it does not come in the cab and also won't gas anyone in the rear outside seats!!!!! What are the best ideas!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

i shot my ehxaust through the bumper mount slot in the left front fender and under the front bumper it was an adhock way of getting the gasses out of the engine compartment at the time but seems to work well unless the wind is just right i have posted these pics will shoot some more later today when the sun comes up i will eventualy up grade to the lyden exhaust system

I always figured breathing fumes from the exhaust was part of the track-master experience. :brows:

Well, that explains the need for the little green tree air freshener...

Nothing smells better than a flaming pine tree with a hint of rubber belt and motor oil!:yum:

The exhaust pipe should run back and under the cab and out the right side about midway back.

Strikes me that most of the original exhausts have rusted out and many people tend to exit the exhaust somewhere out the front, which then blows back into the cabin unless the wind is just right. (I know mine blows back into the cabin and I'm just too darn lazy to run a pipe under and out the side like it should be run).

it was coffee but because of the fact i'm now a single dad for the next 30 days and i was up till 0300 in the morning rebuilding a forflift motor i'm just now waking up by the way no pics of my system till tonight when i pull in the snow trac for a wiper motor replacement its now raining like trapper creek. and i like my coffee like my dog likes his lab's hot and black

dds, figured you for an irish cream coffee kinda guy. Wouldn't mix well with the burnt pine smell I guess...hahahaha

before i gave up drinking thats how i would start saturday morning sat a cup down and turned my back next thing i turned around and there's Macarther my dog laping it up out of my cup seems he liked it too

here are some pics of my exhaust system and how i routed it out of the engine compartment slotted the muffler pipes that slide over the j pipes and used t clamps to compress and seal them works great no leakage and used a 90 degree fitting and ss flex pipe to run the exhaust through a pre existing hole and out under the fender and yes now i'm wide awake.

Being in front of that track like that makes it look like it would be easy to tear off . Is that bumper hollow? What about teeing into it on the back and running the exhaust out both ends of the bumper ???

my internet has slowed so bad it didn't capture all attachments try again

Al i like your disclaimer i need one like that i have buped it but never damaged it and i have herd horror storys about bumpers burning people so it can stay that way till i do the Lyndon exhaust system

Most I have seen run them into the front beefed up bumper. Dmiesners is like that. Some go under the floor but when you crawl over all the Kristis it sometimes get caught and torn a bit. But thats about it.

Big Al dosn't have to worry it sits up tight enough and behind the bumper far enough that it won't get damaged while pushing krustys out of the way.

Hey, Thanks for all the answers. Now Know more than I need to. Looked good last night and think i will simply go underneath and out the back and done. Will probably need a shield up front!!! Hmmmmmm That front bumper mount is short and done??? Time to look again. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

on our trackmaster the exhaust ports on the front of the mufler were welded up and cut into the back side then fed into a y and the pipe run straight back underneath and up the back on the hinge side of the back door works great and no ehhaust comes back in the cab. i believe this was the system devised by northwest tell who had many of these cats.

On an old Tucker we just refer to the exhaust stack as a "heated hand-hold" for the less-than-desirable passengers....:w00t2:
