Its been that way long before we ever heard the name Obama and it will be that way long after he is long dead and buried from old age .


So whats wrong with each state just becoming there own country ? Responiblity stops at the state line . Any state that can't support itself is welcome to be annexed to its nieghbor if they want it . Texas is probably on its own :yum:.

Your proposal is not that far from what the founders intended. Only those things that could be done better collectively, generally, fighting the wars and protecting the borders, were originally intended to be federal issues. To this list I would add the construction of roads. Somewhere between then and now, the feds have decided that they know best.
There is a reason for the 10th amendment.
 
I would be all for it. North Dakota is one of the few states with a budget surplus and it has a large nuclear arsenal.
