Refurbished Thiokol 2100 for rescue ops

The original condition of the Thiokol, purchased by a local FD, from a seller in Carbondale, CO; And now after a serious restoration completed yesterday (finally!). Overhauled the engine, built the rescue body, refurbished cab, new hood/winch mount...

Still trying to dig up other in-process pics...The rescue body is all aluminum, insulated, lined with reefer wall. Rear door wide enough for rescue litter.

who did the work? looks great! That cab looks very well designed and well constructed.
 
A few more pics...We did the restoration here in Lafayette, CO (Ionex / Iomergency). Typically we build wildland fire vehicles, but this build was for a department that has provided A LOT of technical assistance to help build the business and participated in this particular build through completion. Hopefully another department in the area needs one since this was a kick!

Very nice job and it will likely be a welcome sight to anyone needing rescuing.
I notice the oversize load sign. Is that a state-to-state variable as to regulations and cost? My snowcat barely fits within what I think is an 8 foot wide limit and doesn't have very wide tracks.
 
It does vary from state to state and from road to road... we put one on to cover our bases. If not being used in an emergency then a permit from the states DOT is required as well.

Looks well thought out for a rescue vehicle. Like the roominess around the litter area. Will probably still end up stuffed with gear because if you don't have it with you it can't be used. Very professional looking. :applause:
 
One of the guys who helped with this also happens to be a baker...(couldn't find a better forum for this)

the entire cabin is insulated and we added a separate rear heater as well, runs off the hot water. The floor panels are hinged to allow access into the guts of the brakes/tranny. Will post a pic of the rear interior...bench seating around 3 sides with dry storage underneath...as soon as I find it.
 
thts one bad a$$e looking rig if i ever got a larger snow cat i would like to have one of those diesel powered of course.

Very nice work, what would a rear cabin like that set a person back? roughly
we have a few 2100B sitting around and 3700 hydro's
 
Boggie... I'll take one of those 3700's with cut down tracks and one of these mack-daddy cabs. How much that set me back?
 
I wish I had a good answer on what this cost! I'm not privy to what the FD had in there to purchase the 2100, but we had close to $30K in the rescue body and cab work. The real number would depend on how the next one would be configured and how much free labor the customer would provide (FD was here a lot as completion got close to being finished).
 
Hmmm... right. 2X the cost of the cat.
So, you know that one you did for ops on the back of that LMC1200?
How much that go for? Then there's the Topper-Imp cab.
Ball park on the 1200 cab? Ball park on the Imp cab?
