New long term project

The work on my building is winding down.
So I need something else to do. This will be a big one.
Rip Plain Vanilla apart. Redo the stringers to convert it to two engines from three. Engines to be 1,400hp 4 rotor Wipple, dry sump big blocks. Have two #6 drives for this, but hoping to score a couple of #8.
Will have to completely redo the dash. Going glass panel.
New fuel tanks. Scuff up the entire engine bay and reskining with large weave CF.
New cranks are ordered; 6 month lead time. No junk here.
Should take about 2 years to complete. Hoping for 120mph.

Remember when I sent you that MB hood ornament and you offered me beers if I'm in your area? I'd like to request an upgrade from the beers to a ride in your boat. :)
Please post pics of your project!
120 MPH on water is like 240 MPH on land. I've never been that fast in either condition.

Engines will look similar to this one when complete.

How fast have you had it with the 3 engines?

What a fantastic project. I hope you will share as much as possible here so we can enjoy it with you.

Spoke with a principal from the original Cougar company. So the project gets a bit bigger. Going to put a notch in the transom. And instead of extension boxes for the drives , since I'm doing the transom anyway, build the extension boxes into the transom.
And a Pic of the drives. Found a pair that were race prepped for a bit cheaper than this.

Will the two powerhouses have more horsepower than the original three engines?
I was thinking they are about the same for total HP but less total weight with one less engine.

The original were 900 each. But they were tired too.
With only two, I lose the weight of an engine, transmission, transom assembly, hydraulics, and the drive itself.
So adding 100 hp and losing more than 1000 pounds. The notch will provide some free speed. 18" extensions will give me some lift. I should get 120mph, maybe a couple more.
Edit- the drives will add some weight, but total savings should be over 1000 pounds.
