Greetings. I am new to this forum and thought I needed to introduce myself. I live in North Central Washington State (near Winthrop) in an off the grid cabin accessible only by snowcat or snowmobile (if you don't count snowshoes or skis). I own a 1972 Tucker 543A as my chariot. I'm not much of a mechanic, which is why I often ask for advice from guys who have been around these machines.

I look forward to checking in on the forum!

Welcome Phil! Living in an off the grid cabin that is only accessible by snow machine you are probably more mechanical than you are letting on . . . or you will become very mechanical soon!

Welcome to ff Phil. :beer: You will find a very diverse group here on FF. We tend to :poke: each other and throw the:shitHitFan: alot. Just crank back, stoke the fire and join into the fun....

I also live remote in the Big Horn Mountains in north central WY. I have several snow cats but my preferable one is a LMC 1200 for winter access to our home. Fortunately for me the power line ends at my home at 8500 ft elevation. I know it is harder to live without the grid. Please start a post and let us know what type of equipment you use to make your own power. Many summer homes around my location use wind turbines, solar panels along with a generator to provide power. I have learned to really appreciate having commercial electricity but still must maintain a backup generator for the 3 day outages which happen. :snow2_smi:
