Hi Everyone, Just joined the site and have already spent several hours reading old posts. Good to see there are other Snow Cat geeks out there like myself:coolshade So My buddy and I are in the middle of a complete refurb of a Thoikol 1404 and are having a blast. We both have always wanted a cat and finally found one last year. We are converting it to a full cab with a 2.8 liter V-6 upgrade on the power plant. Look forward to chatting with everyoneout there!

Welcome to the asylum! Most people here are crazy, and the snowcat guys (and girls) typify some of the lunacy. There is an area dedicated to snowcat stuff, but feel free to roam around the whole site and participate wherever else you'd like.

Many of our members are tractor owners. Some are car guys. So there are plenty of folks here who help you with restoration ideas.

One thing is for certain, we love photos! :weneedpic
 
Welcome Teeoster! Glad you found your way to FF. I think you'll find all kinds of helpful tidbits to assist with your rebuild. :thumb: And you'll probably be able to offer up a few of your own as you learn and go thru the rebuild process. Like Bob said we like pics. Please share pics of you rebuild project when the time is right.

On the power upgrade how much is it? The absolute weakest link is the C-4 Trans. It will grenade on you in a heart beat if you put much more than stock HP behind or in front of it. A C-12 is a much better unit and will fit with little work. I also posted on the other thread you started. I have all the diagrams you need.
 
OH and just ignore BigAl. After a while he will start to grow on you like a bad rash! He feels his bath tub on tracks is a "REAL" snowcat. Just play along and nod your head alot. An occasional uhhuh is all that is needed to have a very lengthy conversation with him. Its best to just avoid eye contact and walk the other way when he approaches. Act like you didnt see him.

Wow ,That hurt !.... NOT . And by the way ,I am up to two uhhuhs now .:moon: . Yes it is true that my Kristi KT7 is the best and all others are just cheap wanna be Snow Machines . This is a known fact that the U.S. Government is trying to cover up . We do not want mass riots in the streets . I hear they have already started in Cornfields in Indiana .:yum: :yum: :yum: .

Well guys, I just read that Teeoster is from the Motor City. That's a pretty big area for you upstaters. In fact, Wayne County really should be a country unto itself.:poke: Looks like John is close to me.:tiphat::beer::beer:
 
Sorry guys,

I lost this thread when I first started surfing around on here. So there are other Sno Catters in Michigan! I thought I was the only one around. So anyone do any catting around witht the last snowfall?

Kristis are a nice looking cat,but if you want to play in the nountians You will need a tucker to brake the trail for the kristi.
