Need advice on a new gas range

Gone But Not Forgotten
The oven has been messing up on our Amanna gas range for a while now. Tore into it and rather than sink expensive parts into a 17 year old one we are looking to replace it. Any suggestion would be appreciated. I realize most are made by 2 companies unless you buy imported. We are stuck with a standard 30 inch size also so that rules out a lot of the new ones the wife would really like with stove top griddles. White is the color of choice.
 
If you have a Sears Scratch and Dent around where you live, I would check there. My new appliances were purchased there at far less then retail, and the service was excellent. Mine are Whirlpool, not the best, but not the worst.

I also have an LG DW. Learned enough about LG to make me never buy another appliance of this brand.
 
Well appliances seem to only last half as long as the wife. This will be our second round in 35 years. This one was bought new when I remodeled the kitchen in the old farmhouse in 94. Maybe I need a new wife too?:whistling: OK! I can afford the range but not another woman.:hammer::clap:Washing machine will be the next to be replaced as it is the same vintage as this stove.

Stick with trading out appliances. Wives do not have much trade in value, and the new one comes with no guarantee.
 
Well we ended up getting a frigidaire with a convection oven and the big oval burner between the others up top. Was pretty discounted at the first place we went and nobody else came close on price or selection. Now she wants a special spigot installed to fill kettles with at the stove.:hammer: I told her if she finds it I will install it. this whole deal gets more expensive and complicated all the time! I also had to spring for a color Nook at Barnes and Noble.:w00t2:
 
They just called with a price on the flex arm spigot she was looking at yesterday. $150 for 2 arms about 18 in. long. Will have to talk to her about this cause I will need to run a 4ft. steel pipe for the water line to it. I can convert to pex under the basement so that is no problem but I don't know how long of a galvanized pipe nipple I can get local. Don't want to buy a 21ft. length just for this.
