my cardioligist visit-

luvs

'lil yinzer~
they say i can now, finally, get a device to moniter my defribillator/pacer here that i plug into my landline. not another cardiologist appt. fer a year!:w00t2:(unless my ticker device would change that.)
this moniter was due quite awhile ago, then my leads went faulty & 'at, & i went into cardiac episodes, so they postponed 'at.
now they're ok w/ this monitering device~ yay!
progress is so beautiful~

TY! very :w00t2: that they're allowing me to progress. those in-office device checks make me panicky & a tad ill fer a minute- they make ur ticker beat really quickly when they check the icd.

I have an annual big check on mine coming up. The home unit is nice if you have an incident like I did a while ago. I test mine with it every 90 days. You just have to sit still while it scans it.

I have to travel 412 miles 1 way to get mine checked, & that's twice a year. I Like going cause it gets me outta the house.
With the first one I had,(2003) I had to go 4 times a year. Apparently there were a bad batch of batteries amongst them.

muley, u hafta stay still!~ damn. i'm perpetually zipping from place to place.

ol' truck, i got a medtronic w/ a faulty lead, & that gave me jolts & shocks i shant soon ferget while i was inpatient. i knew that pacer was amiss- my chest was beeping- they dismissed this & said to shower b-4 breakfast. minutes later, i was in that woman's arms, as the icd zapped me, then zapped me again. they replaced my device, rather than repair the wire. they took tissue from the lead fer studies. so there was positivity- they used my & others' tissue fer studies to improve thier devices.

got my new in-home icd device moniter. sweeeet! i'll see if my Brother'll connect her to my phone 'an 'at. may not seem much- means plenty to me, tho~

Congrats Luvs. Ain't technology GREAT.

That is the same one i have. Once it scans your device you can take the unit you hold off and just wait for the phone to send it to the company. I bought a male phone jack splitter at Radio Shack and leave it plugged in the wall jack. Then I can just plug the Medtronics in when I want to use it. You can plug it into any phone jack. Sometimes it is busy at the company but early mornings it always goes right through. Reminds me of the old dial up modems when I can hear it.
