Stumbled upon this.

I only know about the farm equipment made by Massey Ferguson, and had no clue they made snow machines.

Had one quite the snowmobile back in the day. Back in the '70s it seemed like everybody was producing snowmobiles.
Yep, I remember even Evinrude advertising snowmobiles that they manufactured back in the day.

Ya I think everyone had a go at making a snowmobile. Most were just made by one company but wore several different dresses. Have a local relic derby each year, getting to be mostly newer machines now but when it started 20 years ago or maybe more, there was lots of old ones that Most people had never seen or heard of.

I remember the old Evinrude, Bombardier and Arctic Cats as being popular. The oddball I recall was the Coleman Skiroule. There were so many different brands.

I think every company that made boat engines pretty much had a line of snowmobiles.

Including Harley Davidson in the 70's one of my high school classmates dad was a Harley dealer and had 15 or 20 new old stock in his warehouse in the early 2000's when they auctioned off his dads dealership.

I bet that was a gold mine in the auction!!

I got onto a scorpion kick recently. Scorpion is the basis of arctic cat and polaris. I got a quad track snowcat from a ff member and in the process of saving it i learned (became aware) of the RTI grooming machines. Although the scorpion brand died in the arctic cat shit show.
The massey fergueson company contracted with them to produce the whirlwind.
Who cares.? I did, the most desirable scorpion is a whip. The whip was a too good of snowmobile that died with the scorpion brand. However, massey released the whirlwind which you guessed it is a whip with an extra headlight. My son registered and trail rode the massey last winter. It now sits neglected in the barn next to a hydraulic drive yamaha i just had to have some year prior.

Someone had one of those hydraulic Yamaha snowmobiles on the last "Snowmobile The Mighty Mac" ride that I attended. (2023).

First time I had ever heard of it. Very interesting.
