Led Zepplin

Gone But Not Forgotten
Yeah, he is playing in London today. Only 18,000 seats available and over a quarter of million people tried to get tickets. One guy at a charity auction paid $168,000 for a ticket, yeah $168,000. I liked his music but I sure would not have paid that much or even the going rate of $250.00.

Come on Murph, :respect:

He (Led Zeppelin) is a they (Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and the late John Bonham currently replaced by his son Jason Bonham)!

The original 4 are rock icons. They changed the face of rock-n-roll!!

I like his music!!! Stairway to Heaven, u can't beat it. I just think 168k was excessive. But it was for charity so maybe ok.

I agree Murph 168k. Had the concert been close to me, I would have gone if I could have gotten tickets at face value.

Yesterday VH1 classic had 2 hours of Led Zepplin concert footage and a remake of 'The song remains the same'. I saw the commercial for it over the weekend so I Tivo'd both of them. The 1st concert footage was shot before the "Whole lot of Love" album came out (68 I believe). To see Robert Plant as he appeared then is something else. They were performing the classics for the 1st time. It was so fresh. Jimmy Page at his best. I'm not into the heavy metal stuff overall, but seeing those old classics as they were performed about 40 years ago was GREAT.

These concerts are just sad, IMO. Sentimental waste of time and money.

LZ of the days gone by is dead. The members of the band are either dead or dieing. Enjoy the old music, but going to a concert of 60-somethings expecting the music of the early 70's is a waste of their time and ours (the viewers).

:) :) :)
Thanks for saying that ma dear.
I am a die-hard Zepp fan and always will be I think.
Who CARES if they are older now and did this??
I saw The Who live at Sheffield Arena a few months before John Entwistle passed away.
They still rocked and gave it all they had, everyone was on their feet.
Had I been in the position to see Zeppelin, nothing would have stopped me.
It's the heart of caring about a band you've loved, not how OLD and washed up they've become.
Anyway.........................
Uh Huh ;)
