HID Spotlights

I have several of the $19.99 spotlights but would like to get something that's brighter, lighter and with a longer run time. It appears that HID is the way to go, especially for the longer run time.

I'm looking at the Titanium Innovations L35 35W 3500 Lumen.
http://www.batteryjunction.com/titanium-l35.html

It seems to have the longest run time, illumination... Specs below.

Anyone have a spotlight they like? Anyone have one they don't like?

Titanium Innovations High Intensity Discharge Spotlight L35

NEW! Now available in Coast Guard Orange (Pantone 179C) with the same great rubberized finish!

This giant killing HID (High Intensity Discharge) light easily holds its own with lights costing 3-6 times the price! We know of no other light that can offer this level of portability, performance and run time at less than $895. With it's removable/swappable Lithium Ion battery pack, the L35 is much smaller and lighter than other lights of comparable output; it's truly in a league of its own!

This super powerful HID spotlight emits a light so strong that can be seen for miles. The L35 is capable of emitting an effective beam over 800 yards while simultaneously offering huge amounts of peripheral lighting. Secondary navigation LED's offer lower levels of lighting for short-range usage, navigation and emergencies. The L35 is supremely portable; weighing in at less than 3 pounds - 1/3 to 1/2 of what its 'competitors' weigh!

The L35 uses a super-efficient 35W Xenon Metal Halide HID bulb with a very long life, up to 3000 hours, which is at least 550% longer than a comparable halogen bulb while using 60% less power!

The 4200 Kelvin (4200K) bulb color temperature used in the L35 is much closer to natural sunlight than the 6000K -7000K bulbs many competitors use which are very blue and leave colors looking washed out resulting in poor color separation and a low CRI (color rendering index). Natural sunlight is 5000K; the L35's 4200K color temperature's more natural color results in far superior color rendering of illuminated objects; it's also friendlier to photography, film and video.

Primary applications include; Military, Tactical, Police, Security Guard & Patrol, Search & Rescue, Camping, Fishing, Land and Marine Navigation, Customs & Border Patrol, Crime Scene Lighting, Aircraft Maintenance & Marine Interdiction

Features:

* 3500 Lumen HID lamp throws light to enormous distances

Currently being reviewed by The Guinness Book of World Records, The Torch is the world's brightest and most powerful flashlight. This flashlight is easily capable of melting plastic, lighting paper on fire within seconds, and if you want, frying an egg or a marshmallow on a stick! At 4100 lumens, The Torch is 100 lumens more powerful than The Polarion Helios, the former most powerful flashlight. Looking to buy a bright flashlight? This flashlight torch will not disappoint you.

So how did we make such a powerful, bright flashlight? The Torch uses an incredible halogen light bulb rated at 100 Watts and runs on a custom built high voltage rechargeable battery. To keep the front lens from shattering due to the immense heat generated, The Torch flashlight is equipped with a specialized heat resistant glass lens and is encased in a durable, military grade aluminum case. Check out The Torch flashlight in action below.

What Bob said.

Because I don't have one... OK, actually because when you live in the middle of nowhere and then drive an off-road vehicle further in (at dark), you may find a need for a light. Something that can shoot far and last more than 15 minutes.

I have seen the one that SS mentioned but it chews through a set of batteries in a couple minutes. That's fine if you're on a swat team and your mission from start to finish lasts less than 3 minutes but not practical in the middle of nowhere.

When you're in woods or fields that stretch for a long way, it's a lot easier to get around if you can actually spot where you need to go. I won't mention spotting animals...

EDIT TO ADD: Bob, I opened the site but there's a lot of models there. I haven't looked through them yet. Any thoughts on those listed?
