Health Care reform ???

BigAl

Gone But Not Forgotten
Its huge . Everyone is up in arms about it but little it being discussed by the private sector on how to correct it . The dems got their ideas and the Rep's have theirs . So "if" you were in charge what would you do ????

Me ?.... I would open up every Military base in the nation for free health care . Kids who want to become doctors could get their med school cost paid for if they gave 6 years to the Goverment as doctors . People who like what they have could make their own decision . HMO's would be abolished . Caps would be put on mal practice injurys . Sort of like a shopping list with prices for screw up's listed . Sounds course but I bet it would work . Any time you take lawyers out of the equation , you save money .

I do not think too many illegals would walk on a military base for health care .

I'd open up a free clinic/hospital/hospice facility and call it The Nightingale House.
It would be free, with volunteer doctors and nurses.
Health care would no longer be a worry. Government wouldn't be involved at all.
One can dream.

I don't like that they have to report the insurance cost in the w2 in 2011 next step will be to tax it

Your plan with the 6 years of service would be the lag to get it started but I do like the idea.

They need to get rid of all the taxes except a sales tax period.
Ie you spend you pay you make more then you buy more if you pay more

I don't want my doctor feeling like he or she isn't paid enough. I also don't want my doctor thinking that if they're negligent, it doesn't matter because the damages will be capped and that will just mean more business for the next guy to fix his\her mistakes.

Ideally, I want my doctor to be the best clinician he\she can be. I also want them to counsel me on holistic options, as well as overall healthy choices. When I see my GP, I ask him lots of questions, usually after doing a little homework. He answers every one, and trusts that I take a personal interest in my own health. At my last physical, he asked if I wanted bloodwork done, but noted that he didn't think I needed it, since my last cholesterol level was 179, with healthy HDL's and triglycerides.

I enjoy very good healthcare. I'd like to think it's because, at least in small part, that I take a personal interest in my own well being.

That, in my opinion, is how we fix skyrocketing healthcare costs.
