Don't write the ol' boy off yet. If he doesn't develop complications, he'll be OK.

That crap has been going around Texas. I'm just getting over it. I spent a truely miserable month with the crud. It's now been 6 weeks and I'm over the worst of it but I can't get rid of the darned cough. It's not as bad as it once was but it just won't go away. Three four ago when I caught the same same crap, it developed into pneumonia and that floored me for a full two months. Although I'm feeling better I still have no stamina and have to be careful not to overextend myself. Now GHWB is almost 25 years older than I am so it's only to be expected that he'll take a little longer than me to get back to normal but he'll make it barring complications. This shit makes you totally friggin' miserable but I haven't heard of it killing anybody yet. Hospital is the best place for him to be. he'll be OK, I hope.
