Fencing Season starts Sept 2 . . . (oh joy, my busy season is about to begin!)

PURDUE UNIVERSITY will start fencing season on Sept 2.

That means my driving will dramatically increase from now until early April.

We have a high level Epee class, 5 hours, with an Olympic coach, scheduled. And regular practices start a few days later.

Then I start with the beginner fencers on Sept 6h. I hope they signed their SARCASM waiver. I don't believe that fencers should have "safe spaces" or cookies and puppies if someone hurts their feelings. Of course, we are talking about Purdue University, a school in Indiana, a school that has smart kids and relies on complying with Titlle VI and Title IX to get federal funds. With conservative governor and legislature.

So I'm not expecting a 'trans' bathroom issue. I'm expecting kid who bring homework to practice so they complete their assignments on time.

HOPING for a repeat of last year. #2 overall in the conference. #1 in Women's Saber. Lots of other awards. I don't see "back to back" Coach of the Year awards for me. But hopefully the team can repeat.

Good luck this season. I'll be starting up with scouts in September as well. We're actually having a planning meeting this afternoon to see what camps and other activities each section has planned for the fall.
