"Do not confuse 'duty' with what other people expect of you; they are utterly different. Duty is a debt you owe to yourself to fulfill
obligations you have assumed voluntarily. Paying that debt can entail anything from years of patient work to instant willingness
to die. Difficult it may be, but the reward is self-respect.

But there is no reward at all for doing what other people expect of you, and to do so is not merely difficult, but impossible. It is easier
with a footpad than it is with the leech who wants 'just a few minutes of your time please - this won't take long.' Time is your total
capital, and the minutes of your life are painfully few. If you allow yourself to fall into the vice of agreeing to such requests, they
quickly snowball to the point where these parasites will use up 100% of your time -- and squawk for more!

So, learn to say NO - and be as rude about it when necessary. Otherwise you will not have time to carry out your duty, or
to do your own work, and certainly no time for love and happiness. The termites will nibble away your life and leave none of
it for you.

(This does not mean that you must not do a favor for a friend, or even a stranger. But let the choice be yours. Don't do it simply
because it is 'expected' of you.)"

Lazarus Long aka R. A. Heinlein

We've been saying Congress is a joke for decades ... and that it needs to change. But Congress will never change, because too many cowardly Congressmen are dependent upon maintaining the status quo. And bad goes to worse.

The only way it will ever change is for an "event" to occur that completely alters the fabric of Amerika. And how we recover at the end of that "event" - for the good or for the bad - is up to the Amerikan People.

Possibly a satire of a good government, but not a joke. A joke is supposed to make you laugh and feel good - Congress has
the opposite effect.

And we can change it anytime we have the will to do so. It is our own fault that we keep sending the same people back
election after election while hoping for positive change, much like the definition of insanity; doing the same thing in
exactly the same way over and over, each time expecting a different result.

When they are all EVIL and in someones pocket... Where do you go to get good Government? Pick the one that looks least evil?? How can they be held accountable? How can they be punished for their wrong doings? Canada has a shit storm to deal with.. just not as bad as the USA.. At my job there are repercussions for me if i screw up.. why not for those voted in? Spend millions, billions and no recourse for wrong doings? All so very wrong.

An amendment to the Constitution covering malfeasance has been proposed, but as gotten very little support from the
folks in DC. Gee, I wonder why? :whistling:

Again.. how to hold them accountable.. If that's not working there must be some other way.. of course those with the dollars to start something has a link to government or some how the wrong doings is lining their pockets. It all starts with the little guy that has nothing more to loose.. then add thousands of others like him or her. The lord knows i am one of the little guys. Praying does nothing to sole this.. Steps must be taken as hells doors are soon to open and we will all pay..
