Another thread mentioned a Cuban Sandwich thus this question:

I've never had a Cuban Sandwich in Miami. I did stumble on to a fantastic Cuban Sandwich that I loved at Pinera Bread. It was stupendous. That was a few years back. Unfortunately they dropped that sandwich. No longer served there. I've tried other Cuban's but Pinera Bread was my fav by far.
Do you know of anywhere that has what you'd consider a fantastic Cuban Sandwich?

They are easy enough to make. If you don't have a sandwich press you can use 2 hot cast iron skillets to cook the sandwich. Bigger skillet on the bottom, smaller skillet on the to compress and cook the sandwich. The lovely Mrs_Bob makes them from time to time and they are good!

Here is a recipe . . . but as a hint, you can buy pickles that are sliced longways, those work great on the Cuban sandwiches. Want try a slight variant, eliminate the Swiss cheese and replace it with Spanish Mortadella cheese.
