Double pneumonia and apparently in very grave shape. Regardless of whether someone is Catholic or not, the Pope carries a lot of influence (sometimes too much) across many nations. It always big news when a new Pope chosen.

Pope funeral 'is being rehearsed': Swiss Guard 'prepare for pontiff's death after the 88-year-old warned 'I may not survive' pneumonia

The Pope's funeral is allegedly being rehearsed after the 88-year-old warned he may not survive pneumonia.
The Swiss Guard protecting the Pope, 88, is rehearsing his funeral, with members under a curfew as they are 'preparing for the pontiff's death', Swiss newspaper Blick claims.
The Pope previously revealed he had 'already prepared' his tomb, but the location of his grave and the coffin itself would break with tradition.
This comes after Pope Francis was rushed to Rome's Gemelli hospital on Friday with significant chest pain, having resisted calls to leave the Vatican for days.
Doctors diagnosed him with a 'complex' respiratory infection and barred him from taking part in several engagements, with the Vatican cancelling or rescheduling his papal audiences this week.
The Vatican on Tuesday confirmed the pneumonia and said Francis' respiratory infection also involves asthmatic bronchitis, which requires the use of cortisone antibiotic treatment.
'Laboratory tests, chest X-ray, and the Holy Father's clinical condition continue to present a complex picture,' the Vatican said. The infection is of particular concern because the Pope had part of his lung removed many years ago.
Italian Cardinal Angelo Comastri, 81, told broadcaster Rai about the Pope's condition: 'Francis is very calm. His helm is in the hands of the Lord.'

ROME (AP) — Pope Francis was in critical condition Saturday after he suffered a long asthmatic respiratory crisis that required high flows of oxygen, the Vatican said.

The 88-year-old Francis, who has been hospitalized for a week with pneumonia and a complex lung infection, also received blood transfusions after tests showed low counts of platelets, which are needed for clotting, associated with anemia, the Vatican said in a late update.

“The Holy Father’s condition continues to be critical, therefore, as explained yesterday (Friday), the Pope is not out of danger,” the statement said. It was the first time “critical” was used, in a written statement, to describe Francis’ condition.

The statement also said that the pontiff “continues to be alert and spent the day in an armchair although in more pain than yesterday. At the moment the prognosis is reserved.”

Doctors have said Francis’ condition is touch-and-go and that he is by no means out of danger. The update, which is drafted by Francis’ medical team but issued by the Vatican, also marked the first time the pope’s prognosis had been described as “reserved,” which suggests it’s in flux and requires close observation.

I guess I have s different view. Sinead was right. Moving all these podo priests to do different parishes instead of firing them. And then they continued.
Evil.

Fred, this pope certainly has not been my favourite, but I refuse to really say anything bad about him in his condition.
I do wonder about who will replace him though.

I guess my part was simply disgust with the whole thing. How many years since this came out, and not one of the popes did the right thing.
Let's hope the next one does he right thing. The pedos need to be purged.
I do remember the Sinead thing on tv. I watched it live and at the time I hated her completely. I had no idea what it was all about. Everybody was up in and about it. The church vilified her. Just like democrats today. She was right.

I wouldn’t be standing to close when he passes, that demon will be looking for another host.

UPDATE:

Health slightly improved, but still serious, still in the hospital.

Pope Francis has been in the hospital since Feb 14th.
