Cat going up down stairs

Saw this on foxnews website. It seems there's a big social media debate about whether a cat is walking up or down the stairs. One doesn't have to look hard at the pic to see it's walking down because you can plainly see the treads overhanging the risers. If the cat was walking up and facing the camera all you'd see is treads. I don't see why the debate. It first appeared on website "Imgur" and is now on twitter w/ hashtag #catstairs.

Yes you can see the threads so cat is coming down not up. Besides which that cat is a friend of my cats so they told me.
