Canada ERUPTS as Jack Daniels SHUTS DOWN Alcohol Production - Carney Throws Tantrum Fit!Donald Trump drops a bombshell as Jack Daniel’s halts alcohol production in Canada, sparking outrage and panic. With the shutdown shaking Canada’s economy, Trump declares victory while Carney scrambles to control the fallout. This shocking move could change U.S.-Canada relations forever.

With a population comparable with California, somehow the Canadians drink their way through 62% of the production. :unsure:
Who knew?? :tiphat::whistling:

But wait, I thought the Canadians were going to bring us to our knees????

I don't understand the 62% of the production statement.

Jack Daniels only has about a 1% market share in total Canadian whiskey market (that includes rye, scotch, whiskey variants). So how can that bring Brown-Forman to its knees?

Jack Daniel's parent company, Brown-Forman, has stated that Canada represents about 1% of its total sales. Since all production occurs at the Lynchburg, Tennessee distillery and sales reflect the proportion of production allocated to markets (after accounting for inventory), this equates to approximately 1% of production going to Canada under normal conditions. This figure comes from multiple company statements during their March 2025 earnings call, amid trade tensions where Canadian provinces removed U.S. alcohol from shelves in response to U.S. tariffs. Note that due to ongoing tariffs and boycotts as of August 2025, actual shipments to Canada have fallen sharply (e.g., 62% drop in the latest fiscal quarter), but the question likely refers to the pre-disruption baseline.

So it is a 62% drop from 1%. That equates to roughly 0.38% of the market, down from 1% of the market.

That's one of the dumbest most misinformed videos I've watched, none of it is true. Nobody's panicking, shelves aren't empty, businesses aren't scrambling for a replacement. I honestly don't even know anyone who drinks it. Our economy isn't in ruins because of the lack of JD. It's not making headlines anywhere. Period. I don't normally watch these types of videos because the breakdown of them sounds so ludicrous, and watching this one confirms my theory. I truly hope videos like this aren't your go to for honest journalism.

Maybe that the 1% of JD sent is 62% of what the swill Canada produces itself?

No, from everything I can find out, JD has a 1% marketshare of all varieties of whiskey in Canada and JD sales dropped by 62%. Crown Royal, Canadian Club and other Canadian brands dominate the Canadian whiskey market. So JD went from roughly 1% of the whiskey market to roughly 1/3rd of 1% of the total whiskey market.

What do you guys think we do up here when we're snowed in for half the year?🤣

Apparently you drink about 50,000,000 liters of Whiskey up in Canada every year :flagcan:

That would include Rye, Scotch, American Whiskey, Irish Whiskey, Tennessee Whiskey, Japanese Whiskey, Bourbon...but from what I see in the data, mostly you guys drink Canadian Whiskey. Crown Royal and Canadian Club seem to dominate the market. All American brands combined seemed to hover about 10% of the market, which are down nearly 2/3rd.

Specifically Jack Daniels had a just about a 1% market share pre-tariff kerfuffle, now it has something under a 1/2% post kerfuffle.

Like i said, I don't know anyone who drinks JD, I'm not a whiskey or bourbon drinker so I don't influence the stats much. Crown Royal and CC are quite common but most places you go, like socials or community events, it's usually the cheapest lesser brands sold there. I used to drink a fair bit of rum but now prefer beer and have gotten into trying different craft beers, some are awful but some are really good, German and Belgian beer is hard to beat.

But like that chart shows, JD isn't crippling our economy, i know we have a small economy here in Canada but I highly doubt this is even a ripple, our government has way better ways to destroy it 🤬
