What do you have? Would you buy it again?
How is the battery life when riding all day?
What are the disadvantages of Bluetooth intercoms?

Mesh is better than Bluetooth.

We use Cardo Packtalk Slim units. Most people I know either use Cardo or Sena. Most reviews say the Cardo is the superior unit. I can say that the voice control on the Cardo units actually work. My friends with Sena say that the voice control is a theoretical feature.

Very interesting.
I had seen home routers that used the mesh system but never paid enough attention to know it was called mesh.
Now I know more about mesh and it does sound awesome.
What is the difference in Cardo packtalk Slim vs Cardo packtalk Bold?

Another question where does the big piece go while riding?
Wife and I ride together so I guess we'd have two of these things somewhere. They said you can charge them as you ride so would you simplty put them in one of the little storage areas or what?

Here is a pic of the big piece I'm speaking of:

SLIM vs BOLD are functionally identical.

The slim is just a different form factor. Nothing else.

Thanks again Bob.
And ....now I see the big piece has to be mounted on the helmet. Makes sense now. You plug directly into each of the big pieces on the outside of your helmet. Duh.

another question.
I read on Throttle buff https://throttlebuff.com/cardo-packtalk-bold-vs-slim/

Your decision may also depend on the type of helmet you going to mount the device on. Also, you need to consider the fact that the Slim doesn’t come with an integrated battery and you will need to mount the battery inside the helmet.

Was it any problem mounting the battery inside the helment?

The battery does NOT mount inside the helmet.

The controls mount to the side and are very low profile. The battery mounts at the back of the helmet along the bottom rim of the helmet. So under the edge of the rim but NOT inside the rim or inside the helmet. It is very unobtrusive and out of the way.

Being less bulky on the side of the helmet it makes it easier to fit the helmets the storage boxes we have on our motorcycles.

Thanks Bob. Great to hear it from an actual user instead of someone writing an article reviewing a product they never actually used. :bonk:
