Oh man Dargo, I guess I was laughing a little too hard at your last post. The guy in the next office came in to see what was so funny.

Yes, my insurance did pay for (some) of the ambulance ride.
I'm surprised the insurance didn't cover it in full. If it is/was necessary they should have covered it. They've always covered my ambulance and helicopter rides in full. (I even got the helicopter to buzz my house but they had me strapped in so tight I couldn't see out the window).

I've found that the bills I have received for medical services tend to be EXTREMELY high, initially.... I have been told(by nurses) that the doctors(and I assume some transportation providers) will pad the bill because they know the insurance agencies will only pay a percentage of whatever they charge.. So, if they shoot high, the insurance pays the amount that they would have charged if they had'nt padded it... You may be able to add to this, like I said its hearsay.. However, when you dispute the charges after the doctors/services have been paid, they are usually eagar to greatly reduce the payment on your side.. If you pay it without question, its a win win for them... Maybe its not widespread, I dont know, but its happend to me...

Good one Drago. I feel for ole Fred, but I couldn't help but laugh out loud reading the story. :D :thumb: :yum: :yum:
