Anyone into video games?

Well, it's been the better part of a day with no replies so not many gamers here. Doesn't surprise me as our membership is generally people that are a bit older than you. (I'd guess the average age of our members is somewhere in the 50's).

Only (online?) game I play is Risk but I only play solo. I play Freecell on my older computers. It doesn't come with the newer Windows.

Oh. I didn’t notice that. I’m in my early 30s. I did see a post from a member that was 24.

I have played a video game system in many years. About the only gaming I do is solitaire on my phone.

My wife's ex was an avid gamer who spent more time in front of a video game than with her. She asked him to put the controller down one night and come to bed. He threw her to the ground and stood over her then grabbed a knife threatening to kill her then held it against his throat. She left him that night. I have never had much use for video games.

When my sons were young, they had the Sega Genesis system.
I used to enjoy playing Road Rash.
There was something quite satisfying about doing the side kick to knock the other guys off the road 😄

The only game I do is on my phone, Mahjong.
That said I delete the app when I get tired of it, then add it back when the mood hits.

Anyone here into video games? I play mostly Doom, Halo, Red Dead Redemption and Mortal Kombat.
I am not into them so much but I love computer games.
I play computer games in my downtime for literally an hour or 2.
Any types but have certain preferences.
I still play animal crossing and obsessed.
I played when I was younger in the 90s firstly Sim City and then loved the Sims for a period.
And me and my brother played transport typhoon.
I was playing this monkey game on the computer and I love farming games.
And Papas cooking games.

My brother and dad were obsessed with road rash.
My brother and dad both knocked me off with the club and chain and got up to the red bikes. The best I could do was the purple bike.
However.. everytime I tried to knock them off the bike, they would get a club or a chain and get me back and they could always beat me...every single time.

I feel like Dr Frankenstein resurrecting a dead thread, but I am getting an All8bit multi platform system with over 100k preloaded games, & I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. There are games on it that I loved playing decades ago until the computers (Atari & Amiga)died, along with more recent stuff I never got around to playing but wanted to.

I am 76 years old. Earlier this year I built my PC. Windows 11 Home, MSI mobo with a 650 AMD chipset, AMD Ryzen 7 8700G CPU with 32 GB of RAM overclocked to 6000 mt/s with AMD Expo in Bios and two 1TB Samsung SSD's. 750 watt PSU. Get what I am doing here? With Windows I tailor a PC to my exact needs, build it and then be able to service it or upgrade it as the need arrives. Don't even think you can come close to this level of customization with a imac. What you see is what you get. They even did away with the access door to add more RAM. (n)

I am not a serious gamer at all so hence a CPU with built in Radeon 780M graphics as opposed to a stand alone GPU.

I built this PC because after 2 consecutive lousy running slow as shit iMacs I threw in the towel with Apple's desktops. I am not going to say they are all shit, just the two I owned were shit. I learned computers 30 years ago on windows starting with 3.1.1. Windows 11 is incredible and my new build is fast as all hell and quite a change from that fucking rainbow wheel of death. :p

I am currently playing a game called No Man's Sky, a sci fi open world game and not a shooter. I play it because it is a thinking persons game which I am not but it does exercise my brain cells, what few I have left. RTS games are fun too like the Civilization games.

i game, but i usually rage quit.

been gaming since pong was new. have had one of just about every vendor's console, built many pc's, dabbled in a dozen different operating systems since DOS 5 and windows 2.

@bczoom FYI: there's a page that has the windows 7 games for download into the newer OS's. I've got a spreadsheet I use to track which games of freecell I've played and whether I won or lost the game.

My sons (43 & 36) play the same games. I use to play games like Prince of Persia and Maximo, RPG’s. After pretty much mastering them , there wasn’t many options to fill my like. They may have some now tho ….
