I went to Defiance earlier today for a chiropractor appointment.
Coming back home to Napoleon, I was driving down Clinton, then had to pull over because this asshole was driving like an idiot.
I'm not sure if he had a warrant and was trying to get out of Dodge, or what.
In any case, he was stopped.
The officers had to wrestle him to the ground.

Chiropractor this morning. Followed by another trip to the tire shop to get new tires installed on my wife's expedition. Home to do some hashing on the bathroom design and ordering fixtures. Next will be a trip to a few tile places in the city to pick out flooring, countertop, and shower tiles.
They can really hurt you and their treatment is 100 years behind modern medicine. Take a yoga class.

Modern chiropractic is not 100 years behind modern medicine.

When my spine was out a few years ago, I could not walk without severe back spasms. My doctor, an Osteopathic doctor who takes two years of Chiropractic after completing medical school, gave me pain killers and muscle relaxers. Then he told me to see my chiropractor. Within a few weeks I was much better and after a couple months I was back to normal. My current chiropractor takes a very focused method of therapy which keeps my spine aligned.

I do not disparage yoga. Yoga is good for physical balance and mental relaxation. It might even help keep your spine in good condition, but it will not realign your vertebrae once they are out.

I've seen several chiropractors over the course of my life. Some better than others, but none of them ever hurt me.

Crumpy, as you well know, it was a good Chiropractor that allowed me to walk after I broke my back. Doctors told me and my mom I would be in a wheelchair by my 30's. They recommended back surgery back when it was hardly ever successful. So, I opted out. Adamantly.

Instead, Thanks to Chiropractic's, I was able to be a firefighter-paramedic and am still quite active physically at 78 years old.

Chiropractic's is not "medicine" in the classic sense. It is l having a qualified life coach who can cure physical misalignments in your body, eating habits, and lifestyle. Which, if ignored, can cause both discomfort and medical illnesses.

Generally, I see my Chiropractor once or twice a month, My Medical doctor once a year.

Anyone who's ever said going to a chiropractor is a waste of time has never had the great fortune of laying on the floor for a couple days with every breath and movement causing excruciating pain to the point you consider just crapping your pants because the thought of getting up to go to the washroom is almost too much. Without chiropractic care I would likely be bedridden by now. Fortunately my back is better now than it was in my teens and 20's because of massage therapy and stretching, and not being stupid and trying to lift things i shouldn't be.

As taught in medical school, yet millions show that many times. Chiropractic solutions work when medical don't. And you keep citing what you are taught in school.
We don't care what you are taught in school. Clearly many things taught are bullshit.

80% of all illnesses cure themselves.

🤣 🤣 🤣 ooh the drama over an old post I made from 2021 that was dug out of the mothballs over seeing a chiropractor. I actually haven't been to one in a few years now. I still go to physio a couple times a month to get my back tweaked. I recently started going to a massage therapist who's done wonders for me in only 2 visits.

Anyhow, what am I doing? I drove my son to work for 10am then decided that the view in the deer blind is much better than anything on TV so I suited up and headed out with a fresh coffee for a couple hours. You can shoot a deer sitting in the lazy boy chair watching reruns.

Rifle or bow

Rifle or bow
Crossbow. My back yard. We have 6 acres. The back three is forest backing onto a large wooded area of our local fairgrounds property which we are involved with and have permission to hunt. But as it's within the boundaries of the small village we live in, only archery or shotgun with a slug is allowed.

Here in PA deer are real problem. We are over populated with them

I worked for one he was fraud as they all are. Their belief of how nerve impulses travel is false and based on 100 year old beliefs. Adjustments dont do any good and can hurt you.
On this you are full of beans.
Yes, there are quacks in chiropractic's. I have met a few. But the discipline is warranted and quite useful in achieving good health.

As for medical doctors, from personal experience, I could say the same about some general medical practitioners. Both as a paramedic and as a patient.

My wife can attest to how badly one "Medical Doctor" hurt her.

Please stop throwing unwarranted crap at that medical discipline.

If you have back problem see an orthopedist.
I am sorry that you had such a bad experience with chiropractors. I had a bad experience with a surgeon who butchered me when I had ovarian cancer. The oncologist surgeon that followed up reopened me, took biopsies and repacked my guts after cleaning up the mess the previous surgeon left. I nearly lost a kidney because of it. I am now cancer free for 25 years. Good and bad in all disciplines.

A shame how one bad experience or one disliked issue can taint an opinion of an entire discipline or person.

You are new to our forum and have posted many good statements and opinions. You have it in you to be a welcomed contributing member here.

We are all open to opinions. There are positive and negative aspects of every situation. While most here are conservative, extremes on either side are not necessarily viewed as favorable.

It is good to be open to the possibility that there is another side to your opinion.

I worked for one and was well aware of how he defrauded insurance companies. Chiropractic is not based on science. Its 19th century concepts regarding the function of action potential and synapses.
In criticism of my own point one experience doesnt extrapolate to the group as a whole. But when humans are treated it must be based on sound science. This is not. Its impossible to move a spine manually.

The real risk is they arent qualified to diagnose an underlying illness that may be the real cause.

You worked for a fraud.
They are not all frauds.
I have person experience that they can move vertebrae to relieve pain. Without masking it with drugs.
A shame you have not had the benefit of a real chiropractor.

I welcome your opinion. I dont need one. I was an athlete all my life personal Trainor and professional soccer coach. You can use a medically trained physiotherapist.

So, you worked for one that was a fraud. Fraudulent practitioners exist everywhere. I have endured some in the standard medical field.
I would suggest sir, THAT is on you.

As for me, I moved on. When working for a pharma company that was owed by "Doctors" which was producing bad products and had no regard for the safety of their employees. We sent one to Emergency almost daily. I spent months fighting the BOD. Getting no results, I resigned.

My Godfather was no fraud. He had Great reputation and many, many satisfied customers. I can walk today, not because of the medical doctor my mother liked, but because of that man. I take some offense to your insistent insult of his practice.

It isnt based on science. See a physiotherapist. The risk is they arent qualified to diagnose an underlying problem that may be the actual cause.
Youre welcome to be offended.

When my neck is out, my Witch Docto..... I mean Chiropractor, cracks me and I feel better.

I know..... Chiropractors think they can cure anything from hangnails to cancer....... but I get some real relief when my neck is out of sorts.

In fact, ... I used to have "siezure-like symptoms". (Turns out, it was borderline scurvy..... long story). But ONE TIME, I was feeling like I had static-cling all over my body and the world smelled really weird. I went to see my Chiropractor and he cracked my neck. He cracked me harder than he usually does and it freaked him out... he thought he really hurt me, but when I got off that table, the smell and the static was gone. (These were NOT my typical symptoms when I was having one of my "episodes").

Whatever he did..... it worked.

That weird smell started coming back in waves on my way home..... but very faint.

Daily dose of orange juice appears to have cured all my other symptoms..... haven't had them in over a decade.

I'm glad you Chiropractic doctor fixed your issues. If one promises something and they don't deliver find another.

That is true of both medical doctors and Chiropractic Doctors.

Chiropractic's is not medicine in the clinical sense. Note, there are no "Emergency Chiropractic Rooms."

It is Therapy from skilled, trained hands. They should not be considered competing industries. My Medical Doctor is an Osteopath who took Chiropractic training so he could define between which discipline his patients actually needed. For me he was a perfect choice.
