Some day I want to get up the courage to buy one or two or three or four lunch. I had the chance at a McDonalds one time. The place was busy as all get up and they were like 4 people in line in front of me. Didn't work out.
Wore my Vietnam Vet cap to a local Wendy's a couple of months ago, and a young lady (early 20's I'd guess) actually did step up and pay for my lunch. I was more than surprised, especially when you consider the "thanks" we got back then. All I could do was echo her "Thank you"; it didn't seem enough but I could think of nothing else to say. Fought back tears for several minutes that day.
thank you to all those out there who are buying lunches and want to buy a lunch when I come from a small town about 4000 people so the whole town knew who deployed from the NG unit i had restaunt owners refusing to take payment and people trying to buy me lunch long after i retired i kind of felt bad as i was payed good and i just did what i swore to do. but i thanked every body and to this day i'm still thankfull too all those who do that.I believe the military helped mold me into the man i am now and think all young people should serve a few years in would help develip leader ship in our future politicians.
