I like History and it gets me thinking and asking questions....today i done some research on McDonald's and found out the basics and this being....


"The business began in 1940, with a restaurant opened by brothers Dick and Mac McDonald in San Bernardino, California. Their introduction of the "Speedee Service System" in 1948 established the principles of the modern fast-food restaurant. The original mascot of McDonald's was a man with a chef's hat on top of a hamburger shaped head whose name was "Speedee." Speedee was eventually replaced with Ronald McDonald in 1963."


Now the first Question i asked myself is why can i order a Big Mac named after one of the brothers but i can't order one named after the other brother:yum::yum::yum:

Sadly Winky's is no more but the Big Wink put a Big Mac to shame ........

 Winky's was a popular restaurant that opened in the early 1960's, offering "fast food cheap." Archive commercials help recall the popularity of Winky's, and a husband-wife team who used to own a Winky's recalls the architecture of the restaurant. They also recall the old menu items. The Winky's chain went out of business in the mid 1980's.
