Umm no kidding.. thwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaackk!!
I was wondering if there was a story behind the photos.
So, whoever was in the combine prior to it setting ablaze, spent too much time in the field, and didn't know the thing was actually not in the state it should have been to operate properly, say for example.. taking off 50 acres of wheat or corn?Dry chafe and heat can cause that. Most combines will have the fire extinguisher. This one was evidently too far gone and once the diesel got burning it was all over with. Or there could have been a leak in the fuel system onto the manifold.

I noticed the sad little fire extinguisher sitting on the ground.
That must have been someone rushing in to attempt to put it out, right?
Sort of like throwing a bucket of water on a house fire.
I know, I ask too many questions.
Feel free to thwack.![]()
Gosh, and that looks like a fairly new combine. No thwaacking. I am sure in that really nice air conditioned cab he did not notice the fire until he turned around. The smoke would have went behind him. Even going the same direction once it starts it may be too late.
Oh man.
