What are you doing today, II

We got about 4" of snow. Plowed both of my driveways, then plowed the next door neighbor because he works night shift and hadn't got his own done yet.

Put away the tractor and headed out to the grocery store. Got home, just was finishing putting away the groceries and the guy down the road texts asking for help. He just had his hip replaced. He is about 72 or 73 years old and his wife, pushing 70 years old, was hand shoveling their driveway, about 200' long so got back on the tractor and drove down the road to find his wife with about 30' of the driveway plowed. She didn't know he texted me so it was a pleasant surprise for her when I came up the drive pushing the snow into the woods.

Got back home and ate some roasted beef ribs with the lovely Mrs_Bob for a very late lunch/very early dinner when she asks me to go meet a guy in a parking lot to pick up some Hot Wheel cars for Kobe . . . after approaching 2 wrong cars that met the description of the vehicle I was supposed to meet I decided to sit and wait for the guy to find me.

Now I'm getting ready to head up to O'Hare airport to pick up my sister-in-law, who's plane was delayed by the snow.

Been hauling grain all week, most of the nights have been getting in the-30 -35 range and warming up to-25, at least not much wind the last couple of days, Monday was terribly windy with those temperatures. Must be getting used to it, doesn’t feel to bad now.

A help put on a snowmobile derby for my small community, was going to be this Sunday but we decided to cancel it, calling for a high of-27, just won’t get many riders at those temperatures.

Getting ready to pick up an exhaust pipe bender I bought from a retired shop owner. Getting all the dies with it too, paid a good price for it and still works. Will save me time not going to a friend's place to have it bent

Dude, and I mean Dude..
Just how many forums are you on??!?
I have this thing I do, as a long time member, when someone questionable crosses our forum, I search similar user names etc.
I've seen you on at least 5-6 others since December.
Won't go into the details, but I'm thinking you're either a spammer, or a very lonely person, or someone with too much time on their hands.

I am female

Dudes and dudettes aside, I'm just eating oatmeal with Kobe while watching DINO DANA on Prime.

Waiting for more snow, which is supposed to start to roll through here in about an hour. When it's done I'll go out and clear the driveways. Both of mine, probably the neighbor to my south, and then down the road to clear the drive of the guy who just had a hip replacement on Tuesday.

Then we have a birthday party for a 1 year old this afternoon for my nephew's son.

We're getting more snow too, after the additional inch last night.
I'm working tonight, have nowhere else to go in the meantime, so... let er rip lol
(the dude is going on ignore, handy feature!)

If you’re checking past sites people have been on, can you go to the far left site I got banned from about 7-8 years ago and tell them they can kiss my arse??😂😂. The owner of the site couldn’t handle the truth. Have only been on a couple other farm forums but don’t go on them much anymore, usually was just the same topic over and over, not to mention the fighting. I really like this site, lots of good people and interesting and funny topics.👍👍

Nahh, that won't be necessary 😉

Watched a John Wayne movie, Rio Bravo. Dad was a John Wayne fan and got me into it which I have his John Wayne collection. Mom knew I would enjoy it. Have visited his birth home 10 years ago with my dad.

Well just hanging around today. 1" snow and freezing rain
16:00 That got interrupted by a hiker that fell about 3 miles up a trail their party were working back with them
the fire company I run with and 3 others drove to the trail 1/2 hour up the road and then they hiked in to about 3 miles up the trail to help get them out.
I got home at 22:00 after cleaning all the equipment and putting it away then had Dinner I'm tired and ready to sleep but still to wired up to sleep.

Did work on my tow truck getting the problems fixed this afternoon and ready for the road now. Having a guy come out hand painting my business on the doors and a number the back. Drove it and most people thought I was like Derek Bieri on Roadworthy Rescues which is a tv show I love to watch

Don't recall if I posted it but I had a total septic system failure a couple days ago. It took me all day but I got it working again. Kicked my ass on the physical level. The major pain always seems to come out 2 days later (today) so I'm hurting.

Temps are going down to single digits for the next several days. I need some alcohol to heat my shop. It's on the other side of the creek which is running rapid. I normally take the ATV to cross the creek but it would have been washed away in today's current. Load up the jugs into the tractor bucket and make the trek in blizzard conditions. Got it done but otherwise, just staying in the shop and watching the crap weather play out.

Give Kobe a hammer it will be out in no time ;)
And so will the copper pipes, the porcelain toilet and probably the drywall on the other side of the studs!

And I’m still waiting for the Tramadol and Advil to kick in! I think I’m done for the day.

I’ll take Kobe to school tomorrow and get back to it

Got up early and made sure a bedroom is ready. I have my first exchange student's things coming today and he is excited including my son. Son has a good friendship with him. He is a nice kid also smart with a great future ahead of him. My brothers and mom said which wife on Duck Dynasty I remind of yesterday, said I remind of Missy and it is true. My son even agreed with them

Took Kobe to daycare.

Took a Sawzall to the bathtub and enclosure and removed then tub and walls. My friend did the plumbing, I don't do that. But the old bathtub/shower controls were taken out and a new shower control was installed. Rock wall backer board panels are mostly installed. Drain still needs to be relocated to the center. Scrounged around and found enough copper and PVC to move things but I don't have the PVC elbows.

Tomorrow morning I'll make a trip the hardware store to pick up the needed bits and pieces. My friend will be back with his cement mixer, should be able to get the new shower floor done tomorrow.

Might get the new sink and vanity installed? Not sure about that. But with any luck we can do that. It mounts to the wall instead of sitting on the floor so if we can get to that it would be great because my friend won't need to come back for anything else on this project. In any case, he is helping me out and I don't want to take him away from real work for longer than necessary. I asked him for 3 days. I know we can get the vanity up by Wednesday.

After that the tile work starts, which is all mine to do.

Long work day and most of it was done today. Have one on my hoist waiting for an axle which will be in tomorrow morning. Got the exchange student settled in and he likes it that hatred is not allowed in my home. Good kid and shown him around including my shop and my 2 cars including my 1979 Dodge W300 tow truck. The lady I bought the Mac toolboxes from, she was impressed with my core buyer. Bought all of the 200 aluminum rims and catalytic converters her late husband had stored. Treated her well including giving her a good price on them. Her real estate agent even seen it happen and said it looks good now

Today is "family day" up here. The kids were both home from school as it's a holiday. Ok. One picked up a shift at work and the other, I dropped off at a friend's house for the day. I came home and got to work painting the hallway and entrance to freshen it up. We had the paint leftover from when I did the basement. The previous owners had done a quick job to freshen it up but when I say quick, I mean that they only painted 3/4s of the way up the wall. I also cleaned and resealed the slate flooring in the entrance. Thankfully we have a dedicated house ladder we keep inside that folds up smaller but extends high enough to reach up there.

We had a slate floor in the entrance of the home I grew up in and I always loved it.

Your floor looks great.

Mom's house also had it at the entrance. A hallway maybe 20 feet x 4 ft. The slate was planed the same thickness.

Here I did the kitchen (pic is before I set the island) and my inder the stairs wine cellar. These are not planed, so bumpy.

We've got it in the kitchen and dining room also. The entrance was wearing with all the dirt tracking in from outside. One of the tiles was actually flaking apart so they needed to be sealed.

Reactions: Doc
I started my School bus driving training today 20 hours total most of it is redundant because I have a CDL already but no S endorsement for school. I'm going to PENDOT tomorrow to see if I can bypass some of this because its patterned as a non CDL licensee taking the stuff. I don't have a problem with 6 hours driver training which is part of the 20 hours.
