Texas Tech University Basketball game, Feb 9th, National Anthem sung by 5 young ladies (ages 6-8.) I have never heard it performed better than this! An entire arena remains completely silent throughout the entire song.
I mean you could hear a pin drop.

I was waiting for something to make me tear up. Nothin' -- sounds similar to other National Anthems I hear all the time.

That is because of who you are. And it was not the same as all other National Anthems. You need to get out more.:moon:
 
Dargo, I'm sorry I missed it the other day. That's the BEST I have EVER heard that sang. They NEED to go the "AMERICAN IDOL" show.

Oh, ok. I shoot many high school and college sporting events, and many times there are students, student groups, etc. singing the national anthem. So, to me, it's very similar to what I often see/hear.

Well....I wish it were. I get rather upset when our National Anthem becomes a soul song, an African gospel, or a hip-hop song. Unfortunately I'm finding it almost rare to hear it sung even remotely close to the way it was written.

Actually, originally it was only a poem, and there was no music with it. The music isn't even original, it's about 50 years older than the poem, and is the music from a British song called ""The Anacreontic Song"

It seems those that are going to be performing on National TV, or a huge audience want to give it their own style -- which I too despise.
 
If you can watch that amazing preformance of our National Anthem and not be moved, tear up and be proud at the same time, CHECK YOUR PULSE, YOU ARE DEAD.
