Will Ohio State play for the National Championship?

In other words will WV or Missouri loose later tonight. If either one looses Ohio State will step right up.
Care to take a guess.

Oklahoma will come through for the Bucks. :tiphat:

Who cares without a playoff system in place?

Guess it all depends what coach has the deepest throat on who gets picked to play in the "championship".

As if that would solve anything. :pat:

I'm sure the fans of whatever teams make it will care as well as the additional millions of people who will watch the games.

Simmer down you filthy bucknut. They are already making the WV vs. Missouri tee's. WVU all the way baby! :thumb:

If by chance W.V should win, the entire state runs the risk of burning down due to all the furniture that will be burned out on the front lawns.

Come to think of it, probably will happen even if they lose.

WELCOME TO TOUCHDOWN CITY!

(by the way Doc, if anyone can find out who has had the most undeated seasons while being in the top ten, without being voted number one because they didn't have the chance to "play" for the national chamionship, I'm pretty sure my alma mater would be up there)

Yet another reason for a playoff system for college football.

Yeah, I know they won't have a playoff system, but lets be honest about why they won't, MONEY.

Yeah, college football isn't about the money:rolleyes:

:4_11_9: Wow, I didn't think either team would lose (well OK, maybe Missouri), but I didn't think both would. Does that put OSU back at #1? If so, now who do they play? Hawaii since they are undefeated? Should Hawaii be #1? It all makes my brain hurt, I'll just watch the people at work and see either how happy they are or how many are moping around like they are going to commit suicide if OSU doesn't win. Sometimes I just want to tell these folks to get a life, it is only a game that you didn't play in, probably never did play at that level, and even if you did that was 30+ years ago!!!!:yum: Can you tell I'm not a big football fan?

The only way Hawaii would have ANY shot is if the powers that be decided that Hawaii could generate the income (I would think logistically due to travel, Hawaii would be out).

First strike that will be commented on from the people who wouldn't want Hawaii in the championship game is their "easy" schedule. Not saying I agree because many a top team has had an easy schedule and it never held them back (why? because of the money the school can generate with their fan base).

Guess the general rule of thumb is if your going to lose, don't lose the last game on your schedule.

That said, W.V had the chance to be in the national game, and they alone blew it.

Well, it's been a great run for us Mizzou fans. You Ohio State/Michigan/Florida/etc. fans get to see your team make a run at the national championship about every year. It's a rare treat to see Mizzou with a shot, but they just can't seem to get past Oklahoma. They never were really in it last night, even though it was tied at the half, you just knew it was about to cave in on them.

I sure does not seem OSU is there that often, but I know what you are saying about Mizzou. Same goes for WVU. I was hoping for a WVU OSU match up.

What's with the Mizzou on Missouri's jersey's?
(and how do you pronounce it?)

Who is this OSU you speak of? Oklahoma State University? :poke:

Looks like it will be Ohio State vs. LSU in the Championship Game. Ohio State will be beaten two years in a row by an SEC opponent.

Mizzou is just what we call the school. It's pronounced like it sounds- Mizz-oo. Actually, it kinda comes out Muhzoo to us Muhzourians. Hutch
