Why do we allow criminals to walk among us?

Very serious question.

We know we have several cities/counties and even states that tolerate it. California even raised the amount shoplifters could steal, which simply allowed them to steal more, without consequence. They have since lowered the amount and now, again, after citizens and stores got so fed up with crime, started arresting shoplifters. Illinois and several other states have "no cash bail" policies that let criminals walk the streets within hours of getting arrested.

Now we have leftist Democrats leading marches against cracking down on crime.

And we have a public that is outraged by crime.

The Image That Killed The Democrats In 2026 And Beyond

And just like that, it's over for the Dems in the 2026 midterms. Maybe even the 2028 general election. Maybe this is even the final nail in their creaky, splintering, mentally ill, Marxist coffin.
Right now, they're trying to ignore it, the way they tried to pretend Hunter Biden's laptop didn't exist back in 2020. They were successful enough that time to push their vote machine over the finish line in Biden/Harris's favor, but that won't happen this time. This story, this image, is already out there.
Still, they're trying to ignore it, hoping it goes away:

The only explanation I've seen anywhere is, "Oh, it was never covered nationally because it was only a local story." Sure. Like George Floyd's overdose in police custody was only a local story. Good luck with that dodge, lefties.
In all fairness to Democrats, their policies have made this situation so common that it may well have disappeared into the din. A violent lunatic with fourteen previous arrests under his belt but who still freely roamed the streets randomly and viciously stabbed a young woman on the train, killing her. The murder occurred over two weeks ago, and they had every reason to believe the "local crime story" was as dead as the beautiful young victim.
But then, the video emerged. It's chilling and terrifying, the horror that every urban female (and plenty of males) fears. The still image of the moment the madman's knife begins its descent is the most damning optic I've seen in years, and it will now become the face of the modern Democrat party.
It gets worse for Democrats: The victim was not only young, female, and stunning, but she was a refugee from Ukraine — one of their fetish victims.

The New York Post is one outlet that covered the story:
Haunting new video revealed the terrifying moment a homeless ex-con allegedly fatally stabbed a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee in what police said was a random attack on a Charlotte light rail train.
Iryna Zarutska, who fled war-torn Ukraine for a safer life in America, was on the Lynx Blue Line just before 10 p.m. Aug. 22 when she was ambushed, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
The surveillance footage, released Friday by the Charlotte Area Transit System or CATS, shows Zarutska boarding the train in her pizzeria uniform at 9:46 p.m. and sitting, looking at her phone, unaware of the danger behind her.
Just four minutes later, 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr. allegedly whips out a folding knife and lunges forward, stabbing her three times, at least once in the neck, police said.
Those eyes, that brave smile, her courageous backstory — fleeing war-torn Ukraine for a chance at safety and freedom in America, taking a humble job as a pizza clerk in Charlotte, N.C.
Laken Riley, the young nursing student murdered by one of then-President Joe Biden's illegal aliens, became a poster child for stopping the invasion. The description of her murder was shocking to the public consciousness, but still, it was only words.
Robin Westman's murder and maiming of young Catholic school kids at prayer was a shocking and tragic story. It was powerful enough to finally spark the public debate about what kind of medications are given to youth with gender dysphoria and whether they are sane enough to own guns. But still, that story was also only told in words.
Here, we have the video of the savage act committed by another Democrat sacred cow, a black, homeless man — you know, the kind of sweet, innocent victim those awful racist cops are always trying to murder.
Even as Democrats surge in the streets of Washington, D.C., protesting the president's crackdown on crime, this chilling video and this electrifying still image have hit the internet. The left could not be caught further out on the wrong side of the issue. They are exposed as the heinous morons they are.
A confession: I do occasionally worry about Trump's over-the-top rhetoric and willingness to push the bounds of executive power even further than former President Barack Obama did. I know he's doing the right things, but every time he calls out the guard or sics the FBI on someone or blows up a boat of our enemies, I can all too easily picture the next rabid Democrat president goring my ox in the same way.
But then I see something like this, and I thank God for the man in the White House who has climbed athwart history, yelling, "Stop!" (With apologies to the Buckleys.)
Because in the end, Democrats champion mental illness, crime, and the breakdown of civil order; they champion evil. Republicans fight it. Period.
It's over, Democrats. Begone with you.

Of the few liberal jackasses I know, they are still liberal jackasses. And digging in.
Republican politicians need to be broadcasting videos like this. All the time. Where are they? Why aren't they shooting at the top of their lungs?
On another note, no politician has been arrested for anything. None. Nobody. I don't have that many years left, but I'm afraid I'm going to see the United Socialist States of America before I'm gone.

The politicians are clowns and the media is full of people who are INTENTIONALLY HIDING the crime stats.

So the story I posted above about the young Ukrainian woman who was brutally killed on the train received the following coverage:
0 AP stories on this deadly attack
0 PBS stories on this deadly attack
0 NYT stories on this deadly attack
0 NPR stories on this deadly attack
0 WSJ stories on this deadly attack
0 BBC stories on this deadly attack
0 CNN stories on this deadly attack
0 WAPO stories on this deadly attack
0 Reuters stories on this deadly attack
0 MSNBC stories on this deadIy attack

But let me ask you if you recall the young Marine named Daniel Penny who stopped an attacker on the NYC Subway, and, while saving people on the train, from a serial felony offender, accidentally choked the thug to death. He was FRONT PAGE NEWS for weeks, being vilified as a vigilante by the above media sources who painted him in all sorts of unsavory ways. Ultimately he was found NOT GUILTY by a jury in a trial that should never have even occurred.

But what explains the difference in coverage? And why are these news outlets so biased? And especially why are they so biased on an issue like crime, which affects everyone expect the people who can afford to live in private neighborhoods with private security?

Josh Hammer wrote the following piece, published by Newsweek, that seems to really nail how crazy the crime issue is in our hyper-political culture.

The Art of the 80-20 Issue

Josh HammerSeptember 05, 2025
Donald Trump's recent floated proposal to deploy the National Guard to crime-overrun blue cities like Chicago and Baltimore has been met with howls of outrage from the usual suspects. For many liberal talking heads and Democratic officials, this is simply the latest evidence of Trump's "authoritarianism." But such specious analysis and manufactured hysteria distract from what all parties ought to properly focus on: the well-being of the people who actually live in such crime-addled jurisdictions.
What's remarkable is not just the specific policy suggestion itself -- after all, federal force has been called in to assist state-level law enforcement plenty of times -- but rather how Trump is once again baiting his political opponents into defending the indefensible. He has a singular talent for making the Left clutch onto wildly unpopular positions and take the wrong side of clear 80-20 issues. It's political jiu-jitsu at its finest.
Crime in cities like Chicago and Baltimore isn't a right-wing fever dream. It's a persistent, documented crisis that continues to destroy communities and ruin lives. Chicago saw nearly 600 homicides in 2024 alone, "earning" it the dubious title of America's homicide capital for the 13th consecutive year. In Baltimore, despite a recent downtick, violent crime remains exponentially higher than national averages. Sustained, decadeslong Democratic leadership in both cities has failed, time and again, to secure even a minimum baseline level of safety for its residents -- many of whom are Black and working-class, the very communities Democrats purport to champion.
Trump sees that leadership and quality-of-life vacuum. And he's filling it with a popular message of law and order.
Trump's proposal to deploy the National Guard -- if local leadership continues to abdicate their most basic governance duties -- isn't the flight of fancy of a would-be strongman. It's federalism functioning as the Founders intended: The federal government must step in, per Article IV of the Constitution, when local governance breaks down so catastrophically that the feds are needed to "guarantee ... a republican form of government." Even more specifically, the Insurrection Act of 1807 has long been available as a congressionally authorized tool for presidents to restore order when state unrest reaches truly intolerable levels. Presidents from Jefferson to Eisenhower to Bush 41 have invoked it.
Trump's critics would rather not have a conversation about bloody cities like Chicago -- or the long history of presidents deploying the National Guard when local circumstances require it. They'd rather scream "fascism" than explain why a grandmother in Englewood should have to dodge gang bullets on her way to church. They'd rather chant slogans about "abolishing the police" than face the hard fact that the communities most devastated by crime consistently clamor for more law enforcement -- not less.
This is where Trump's political instincts shine. He doesn't try to "win" the crime debate by splitting the difference with progressives. He doesn't offer a milquetoast promise to fund "violence interrupters" or expand toothless social programs. He goes right at the issue, knowing full well that the American people are with him.
Because they are. The public has consistently ranked crime and safety among their top concerns; last November, it was usually a top-five issue in general election exit polling. And polling consistently shows that overwhelming majorities -- often in the 70%-80% range -- support more police funding and oppose the Left's radical decarceration agenda. Democrats, ever in thrall to their activist far-left flank, are stuck defending policies with rhetoric that most voters correctly identify as both dangerous and absurd.
Trump knows that when he floats these proposals, Democrats and their corporate media allies won't respond with nuance. They'll respond with knee-jerk outrage -- just as they did in 2020, when Trump sent federal agents to Portland to stop violent anarchists from torching courthouses. The media framed it as martial law; sane Oregonians saw it as basic governance.
This dynamic plays out again and again. When Trump highlights the border crisis and the need to deport unsavory figures like Mahmoud Khalil and Kilmar Abrego Garcia, Democrats defend open borders. When Trump attacks gender ideology indoctrination in schools, Democrats double down on letting teachers hide children's "transitions" from their parents. When Trump condemns pro-Hamas rioters in American cities, Democrats can't bring themselves to say a word of support for Israel's war against a U.S. State Department-recognized foreign terrorist organization. When Trump signs an executive order seeking to partially recriminalize flag burning, Democrats defend flag burning.
On and on it goes. By now, it's a well-established pattern. And it's politically devastating for the Left. Moreover, the relevant history is on Trump's side. This sort of federal corrective goes back all the way to the republic's origins; those now freaking out might want to read up on George Washington's efforts to quash the Whiskey Rebellion in 1794.
Call it the art of the 80-20 issue. Along with his sheer sense of humor, Trump's instinctual knack for picking such winning battles is one of his greatest political assets. And this time, the winner won't just be Trump himself -- it will be Chicagoans and Baltimoreans as well.
