When was the last time postoffice was closed for three days in a row??

Australia Post was closed from the 23rd of Dec to 2nd of Jan except for the 27th and 28th Dec. No Saturday trading at all.
I maybe wrong but I think the first pre paid postage stamp was an Australian idea

Hey, my mailbox got massacred long ago - point is - I haven't had a little red flag in years.
When I stick in mail with postage on it the bloody postman steals it! So, yes, I guess you can post from your box
