Went to the scrap yard today

And this is what I saw being unloaded. :unsure:

40,000lbs @ $140/ton = $2800 scrap value for a Cat scraper body.

Well 35.00 pays for more than the gas to get there. We have lots of copper every year that we take out of houses and end pieces from new copper being installed that ads up to about 2k a year.
 
That price is low. I took 3 five gallon buckets of steel scrap in last week and got $18. Ticket showed they are paying $165 a ton. Got to take the old brush hog down next week.
 
My last trip to the recycler neted me $158 for the scrap faucets and copper that I keep from jobs. That's a year's worth of saving the stuff in barrels.
