A work acquaintance is from Sao Paulo Brazil. He plays a custom built 10 string guitar. It is a Brazilian "Viola Caipira". It is interesting, an outgrowth of a Portuguese guitar. It is like the 12 string guitar you would find in the US; it is played as a 5 string. The fretting and scale is different from what you would see on a 6/12 string guitar though.
Although I trend towards classic rock, I like all kinds of country, western, bluegrass too. I found I really like this Brazilian traditional/"country" music, even though I do not understand a word they sing. The instrumental is really cool
