WTF ................. 3000 people going along. This is outrageous! I read in earlier articles that they reserved a 500+ room hotel and still have to house some in another. If this don't piss people off nothing will!! Talk about elitism .................. :furious:

US to spend $200 mn a day on Obama's Mumbai visit

Mumbai: The US would be spending a whopping $200 million (Rs. 900 crore approx) per day on President Barack Obama's visit to the city.

"The huge amount of around $200 million would be spent on security, stay and other aspects of the Presidential visit," a top official of the Maharashtra Government privy to the arrangements for the high-profile visit said.

About 3,000 people including Secret Service agents, US government officials and journalists would accompany the President. Several officials from the White House and US security agencies are already here for the past one week with helicopters, a ship and high-end security instruments.

"Except for personnel providing immediate security to the President, the US officials may not be allowed to carry weapons. The state police is competent to take care of the security measures and they would be piloting the Presidential convoy," the official said on condition of anonymity.

Just reading that tells me all Americans are truly in financial shit.....if a leader don't set a healthy example on spending then what hope is there.

You have my Prayers.

Another way to look at it Galvi is that at 200 million a day, it is probably cheaper if the f**ker stays over there. He costs us much more when he's in the White House. :hammer::hammer::hammer::hammer:

I'd like to ask the members here who consider themselves progressives something:

What would your reaction have been if this story would have broken a couple of years ago and the president committing this outrage was named Bush?

Honestly, do you think the main stream media would be mute? Do you think the likes of Jackson and Sharpton would be mute? What about the other democrat usual suspects?
