Trump axes Biden’s jobs data chief over rigged numbers as PBS and NPR collapse after funding is slashed—America’s media and economic shakeup just hit hard.
================================================================================================

NPR and PBS are closing their doors. Good riddance. Government funded propaganda is not tolerable anymore. :tiphat:

PBS is not going away. We will cure cancer long before all that happens.
They claimed for years public funding was only 10% of their budget.
Liars that they are this new claim is more of the same.
Besides, isn't there enough lefty's to support them?
After all, weren't lefty's their target audience?
An aversion to the truth to the bitter end.
Good riddance if true.
But unlikely.

For the record, my company contributed largely to PBS back in the 60's and 70's. Even did a few broadcasts, (Vic Bidict Five Jazz) and commercials for them. Today, i want nothing to do with them.

They need to go back to honest and fair programing,,,,; and news.

I did the same thing Franc Every time they had a fund drive.

The rest I agree totally with. If they would go back to what they were, I might even support them.

If it's true that PBS and NPR must shutter for lack of mandated tax payer funding, then they're not much of a required service. If they can't survive without forcing people, via taxes, to fund them, and voluntary donations are not enough, then it means that not enough people need them to exist. Compare it, for example, to roads, which are built and maintained through forced taxation. Nobody is calling for that funding to be cut, because everyone NEEDS the roads. Taxes should only be put toward things that people overwhelmingly agree are a bona fide public need. When they cease to be that, the people should be allowed to keep their money.

CNN, MSNBC, ABCNews, the major networks etc, etc; are all suffering financially because they are no longer considered reliable sources of news. Or decent programing. However, they do not have government funding and must rely on income from sponsors.
The public has turned away and with them all the lucrative advertising dollars.
Therefore, they are scrambling to change in hopes of reviving viewership.
Why then should Public Broadcasting not suffer the same fate?
