Titanic exposition

We were in Toronto for 4 days this past weekend and went to see a display of approximately 200 artifacts that have been brought up from the Titanic over the years since they first discovered it. I took lots of pictures and thought you'd enjoy them.

This was a tie down removed from the deck.

When you enter, you get a boarding pass. During the tour at one point you scan it and it tells you if you survived or not. They really touched on all the human stories.20251117_123120.jpg20251117_123103.jpg

I'd like to point out the bell. It was the one on the crow's nest that was rung when they spotted the iceberg. Also. A few posts earlier there's a photo of some bank notes and a wallet. The wallet was found on the ocean floor in the debris field with money inside.

I didn't survive. My wife did though. We didn't do the hands on vr part of the tour though.

What's strange though is that near the end of the tour, they have a list of survivors and victims of each class. I didn't see a Jack Dawson listed anywhere.

Also of note...the last picture of the bull horn...that was one of two on the deck used to shout directions at everyone as the ship sank.

A few more pictures I forgot last night. First, one of the deck riggings that lowered the lifeboats.

Next, some items placed as they were located on the ocean floor. The dishes were cool. 20251117_130637.jpg20251117_130645.jpg20251117_130713.jpg

At the end, they have a piece of plate from the hull that you can touch through a hole in the plexiglass. 20251117_130905.jpg
