Thiokol Imp 1404 - repair/restoration questions

@Snowdancer, I see you've got your exhaust routed out the back end, straight shot muffler, looked to be new pipe in the photo, have you had any issues with that set up in terms of backing into snow? and also, is that the 1.5" tractor muffler you see on Summit Racing? If so, how does she sound? Any more quiet?

Just now looked at Summit, I like that tractor muffler. It's about the right size for me. I currently have a non mufled stack and have thought about cutting it and installing a muffler just to quiet things down a bit.

Hi Gtiz,

Yes, the muffler is the tractor muffler from Summit.

I didn't think about the possibility of the exhaust getting blocked by snow. I simply replaced what was there and used the same routing.
The Imp exhaust is loud and louder than I expected. I don't know how much the muffler actually helps.

The piping (other than the muffler) is stainless steel. I was able to tie into the existing header pipes by sleeving over the exhaust header piping with stainless steel pipe whose ID is very close to the OD of the headers and then clamping.
