I have to laugh... It is amazing how fast one side can point the finger at the other side around America and say it all their fault for the way this great nation has become . Has anybody looked within themselves ???? Get real folks . None of our so called leaders on either side of the aisle have it figured out . 99 % of us are just sheep and happily go along with whatever our choice of party tells us to feel . I feel sorry for you . Does anyone think for themselves anymore ?

I am pissed that politicians could get us to forget the real picture and just fight among ourselves . Keep us mad or confused and they can do whatever they want . Keeping us scared will even work better .

It you don't believe that just take a hard look at the Gun rights groups out there . There coming boys , hide your guns !!!!!!!Its the only chance we have left .
Once again , the good old boys have us in line . Fighting amonst ourselves .

I may not see it in my lifetime ,but it will happen soon . History is in the making . Smarter men than me or you have witnessed great nations fail through out history . They could not stop it and neither will you . About 200 -300 years seems to be the normal and then a nation imploded apon itself .


Have I got the answers ??? I sure as hell don't think so ,but instead of pointing the finger at everybody else maybe we should look within ourselves to see exactly what we have given away without even putting up a fight .

I disagree with implying the masses are 'happily' following along. The masses are looking for hope and trying to impact change but I have to admit it seems futile.

Al's post reminds me of what CG (city girl) has been saying and posting about for some time now. The strings are being controlled behind the scenes by wall street money / tycoons and which ever party is in power is their puppet. The parties do things differently and get some of their way but the ruder / direction we go it controlled from behind the curtain.
What will it take to change this? How could one change it from inside our current system?

Term limits on all elected offices at all levels of government would be a good start. Until we break the entrenched power players out of the system the puppeteers will continue to work the strings. The citizens have to take a more active role and quit letting business as usual be the norm. Another big start to changing things would be to eliminate the 2 party stranglehold on elections. Open primaries where you do not have to vote only the party line. I hate not being able to vote for the best candidate because he may be in another party.

I'm sorry , I still don't think building up a gun arsenal , saving up a years worth of food and hording gold is going to save our sorry asses . Maybe prolong it ,but not save it . Thats the stuff that fictional movies are made of . I don't think John Wayne is riding over the hill to save America on this one .

I know your guns for self protection from others , but what happens when your family says they are hungry ?

Maybe we should start correcting the situation before it gets to this point of having to make that decision .

you didn't preface your statement my saying correct it before it happens, and yes we should. BUT, not developing the skills or planning ahead is not only dumb but irresponsable. Even FEMA says you should be prepared for emergencies

No i did not . sorry . I don't have the answers here and I know that . I just know what I am not willing to do .

I guess there is no easy answer . Hope I am long gone and buried before America gets to this point .

FWIW, the guns are also used to harvest game to feed yourself and your family, not just for protection. I'm sitting here in my kitchen watching about 10 squirrels digging the shit out of my back yard burring seeds. They would get the business end of a .22 LR, and become stew if the need was there. Same with all those fucking geese that wander through our development, shitting a green river as they walk. And let's not forget all the urban deer that tear the daylights out of the planter beds. They are not only a meal, but the hide is useful as garments if you know some basic taxidermy.
