SNOW TRAC SEVEN SEATER POWERED BY VW 1600 ENGINE. THIS IS MY SECOND ONE AND WAS SUPPLIED TO ME BY ALEC MCLARTY OF CRIEF PERTHSHIRE.ONLY APROX 2000 MADE AND WILL ALMOST TRAVEL ON DIRTY WATER.I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE SINCE APROX 1980. THIS MUST BE ONE OF THE EASYEST VEHICLES TO RENOVATE EVER. ALLY PANELS ARE IN PERFECT ORDER BUT STEEL PANELS NEED PLATEING. FLOOR IS ONLY HALF INCH PLY NEEDS REPLACING.AS YOU CAN SEE BY PHOTOS ALL TRACK AND DRIVE SPROCKETS AND DRIVE CHAINS ARE AS NEW HAVING ONLY COVERED 235HRS SERVICE. THIS VEHICLE STOOD FOR 20 YEARS AND I PUT A BATTERY ON IT CLEANED THE POINTS PLUGS AND TIPPED SOME PETROL DOWN TOP OF CARB AND SHE FIRED UP STRAIT AWAY SOUNDING AS SWEET AS A NUT HOWEVER ON STARTING IT A SECOND TIME SHE DEVELOPED A NOCK SO I WILL SELL IT AS NEEDING WORK TO ENGINE HOWEVER ANY VW ENGINE WILL FIT. MY FIRST ONE HAD A 1200 ENGINE AND THAT WAS PLEANTY OF POWER AS IT IS LOW GEARED WITH A TOP SPEED OF PROBABLY 25/30 MPH I HAVE A VIDEO OF ONE BEING RENOVATED ON SALAGE SQUAD.I THINK NO SPECIALIST PARTS WILL BE NEEDED TO TURN THIS INTO AN AS NEW VEHICLE AGAIN DUE TO THE LOW HOURS COVERED. THE SEATS WILL NEED THE FABRIC RE PINNING AND I WOULD REPLACE THE FOAM ALTHOUGH NOT TOTALLY NESSESARY.TRACKS ARE FAIRLY GOOD AND I HAVE A NEW SMALL TYRE AND TUBE SPARE. I REBUILT ONE TRACK WITH NEW BELTING AND ITS NOT TO DIFFICULT. THE CHASSIS IS 2INCE BOX WITH NO FANCY ANGLES. ALL IN ALL THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A VERY RARE VEHICLE FOR LITTLE MONEY AND IN REBUILT CONDITION I BELIEVE YOU COULD NAME YOUR OWN PRICE.I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE THIS FROM THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME IF BIDS ARE NOT COMMING IN EARLY AS I HAVE OFFERS IN SINCE I DECIDED TO SELL IT. THIS IS A GREAT WORK HORSE AND AN EVEN BETTER TOY FOR THE BOYS. YOU CAN CONTACT ME ON 01833 660099 DARLINGTON AREA. HAPP BIDDING AND GOOD LUCK, KIND REGARDS PAUL. P.S.PARTS MANUAL AND OWNERS HAND BOOK COME WITH THIS VEHICLE.

No, the "Rat" look tends to be running and pretty good mechanilly but usually with a "primer" only paint job. The moss is a bit much and would be considered a "Crap" look here in the States. :D

UK BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE.

Seems to me that he is charging £1,699.00 for the PARTS MANUAL and throwing that Snow Trac into the deal for free!

But it looks like this one is going to go to one of our English friends. Perhaps Ice Queen, Tommo, or maybe our new member from the UK TankGirl can rescue this one and take on a project that will occupy their time for the 5 years (and that will just be the amount of time they spend trying to pressure wash this clean)

Here are 4 more photos. The photo climbing up the ramp must be the last time it was driven 20+ years ago??? And boy-oh-boy, that engine & variator compartment sure look like they are in good condition, probably just needs a couple new belts and it should run like a top :puke1:

Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, come to that wouldn't touch it with someone else's barge pole!!! Trouble waiting to happen - no wonder there were no bids.

If it was close to me and very "cheap" then I would pick it no problem. I am sure it still has some useful parts and panels I could use on other snow tracs.
