Snow Trac cargo sled

Member
My grandpa had a very nice wooden sled to tow behind his Snow Trac in the 1960's. I found the new owner and he let me borrow it this summer so I could copy it. I made it a litte shorter but otherwise the same. Almost finished now. Will look good behind the ST.

Did you steam bend the runners?

Did you lay up veneer and glue?.

I have tried steam bending hardwood and it is an art. I enjoyed the process.

This was my steam bending effort. Trying to be authentic, I used hickory but it was kiln dried and did not bend as well as it wood have green.
