But to my mind, the most likely answer is that the shooter was probably a radical leftist Antifa type and probably was breathing heavily from climbing to the roof, adrenaline pumping, and just a bad shot so he actually may have killed the people he was trying to help and he missed the people he was trying to kill. But let's wait and see how this plays out before jumping to conclusions.

(CNN) — One person is dead and two others have been hospitalized with gunshot wounds after a shooting at an US Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas on Wednesday
(CNN) — One person is dead and two others have been hospitalized with gunshot wounds after a shooting at an US Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas on Wednesday morning, Dallas police said on X. A suspect also is dead, police said.
“The preliminary investigation determined that a suspect opened fire at a government building from an adjacent building,” Dallas police said. “Two people were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds. One victim died at the scene. The suspect is deceased.”
At least two detainees were shot in the incident, according to two law enforcement officials with knowledge of the incident. A suspect is dead from a self-inflicted gun shot wound, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said on X.
“Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities,” Noem’s post read. The motive in the shooting is unknown, she said.
Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons said on CNN earlier Wednesday three people were shot, all of whom were taken to a hospital. He did not specify who the three people were.
“Preliminary information is a possible sniper,” Lyons said.
ICE employees, civilians, and immigrant detainees are generally among those at the facility.
No ICE officers were injured . . .
So it appears an unknown sniper got on a rooftop and shot into the ICE field office compound. We can suspect, but we don't yet know, that the sniper was shooting to kill ICE agents/officials. Instead apparently hit and killed 2 of the "detainees" in custody at the facility. Hit and injured a 3rd. Now that could be really bad shooting. That also could be targeted shooting of those detainees, possibly a hit by a rival gang?
