Dear Abby,

I spend too much time surfing an internet user group type place. It is frequented by a lot of kooky right wingers and a few kookier left wingers. We all seem to have tractors or snow toys. Should I be concerned about how much time I spend on this site?

Dear Confused:

Socialization, even if virtual, is a very healthy process. As for the other geeks you choose to socialize with, revel in your similarities and not so much in your differences , i.e. you are all kooky tractor lovers.

As for how much time you spend on-line, if you log-off one day and notice your family has moved, that could be an indication that you've probably been on too long. Try to find a balance between reality and virtual reality.

You could also ask yourself: "What was I spending my time on before the Internet?"
