Paint Removal Advice

It seems that somewhere in the Forum I read about some especially good paint removal chemicals. I can't seem to locate that thread. I have an especially tough job that sanding won't do. Can someone point me in the right direction?

That I know of , there are no good paint chemical removers left on the market that sell direct to the public . Most are hazardous .
I think the best bet is to glass bead or walnut shell blast the paint off . There our outfits in Calif. that do this on old cars for about $500 .Its a mess but it is the best way short of hand sanding with rough grit sandpaper .

Sopend the extra money and have it bead blasted. Actually the best como is bead and walnut shell blasting. About 50/50 ratio. I have spent $250 on Chemicals most didnt work worth a shit anyway. The only two that did was Biz and the best was JASCO epoxy and paint remover. Red top gold cans I believe. That was the best. They also make BIZ but its for another company so they dont have all the good stuff in it. BUT I would just have it blasted if I had to do it all over again.

Haven't tried it myself, but I read on another forum someone used oven cleaner to remove paint from cast parts of an old tractor. They said it worked fine.

Well that may have been true if they had the good old Oven-Off that was very acoustic. The new stuff sucks. Plus you would have to by cases of it for a large job and still never be done.

Try to find a source that blasts using crushed walnut shells. We had our thiokol blasted inside and out, when finished it looked like a brand new "airstream". No damage to the aluminum skin what so ever!
