That's one way of putting it. When we were at the mobilization training base we would call them the "9 and pine" crowd. All of the LTC's carried 9mm pistols and from time to time there would be some training that involved only those that carried a rifle. The 9 and pine's would go sit down on a fallen pine tree and hence the name.

You guys ever try those ice sailing rigs? I have seen video, and read about it. That looks like it would be awesome to try.

Not to take off track but we have them on Lake Pepin. They have races and everything a couple of times a year. Years with a lot of snow no. Just the years with just ice.

I think you'll be just fine. You dealt with going to Iraq with the scorching temps. and no AC. A sand storm is probably much worse than a snow storm, plus you'll have a nice warm bed (as long as you don't lose power in a blizzard!)
