Anyone else use Apple CarPlay in their vehicles?
I'm looking for a Weather App that works with CarPlay
I do NOT want one that only Siri activated and is an "audio only" app.
I'd prefer one with a map. . . I don't need "navigation" features, but the visual map displayed on the car's screen would be handy for upcoming weather issues.
I'd also prefer one that is FREE. Lots of these cost between $20 and $40 per year, and I really only need/want it for winter weather driving weather conditions (mostly for the 160 mile round trip commute to Purdue)
I'd pay a ONE TIME fee but I don't really want to pay every year with a subscription.
I downloaded CARROT, which seems fun, offers snarky commentary, but $20 a year to do what I want seems excessive
I downloaded WEATHER ON THE WAY but, like CARROT, has a subscription, and I'm not actually sure it does what I want
I downloaded WEATHEROLOGY, which is FREE, but is audio only, operates off of Siri and requires me to memorize commands. I can't remember what I had for breakfast.
I downloaded ROAD TRIP WEATHER, which does what I want, is FREE, but requires loading the route into the iPhone before you drive rather than letting you open it on the car's touch screen. So not ideal. But meets the other criteria. So far the ROAD TRIP WEATHER app seems to be the one that meets the criteria but it is still not ideal.
Anyone got another suggestion?
