Letter to Maryland Senator

Dargo

Like a bad penny...
Dear Senator Sarbanes,

As a native Marylander and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue
Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the
Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for
becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to
illegal alien stem from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate
and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is
accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five
years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and
income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I
see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone
figures it out.

Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes
every year -- so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of
taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can
apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result
for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.

Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local emergency
room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying
premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost
$10,000 a year. Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my
daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school
applications, as well as "in-state" tuition rates for many colleges
throughout the United States for my son.

Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of
renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car insurance
premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have college age
children driving my car.

If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (
retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be
most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.

Your Loyal Constituent,

Why are you singling out Senator Sarbanes?

I'm just guessing but it is probably because Sen. Sarbanes is a cosponsor of S. 359 to encourage more illegal immigration by rewarding certain illegal aliens who work in agriculture with amnesty. And because he cosponsored S. 1645 to encourage more illegal immigration by rewarding certain illegal aliens who work in agriculture with amnesty. And maybe, just maybe because he co-sponsored S.8 would have rewarded illegal aliens with amnesty by granting in-state tuition and amnesty to certain college-age illegal aliens. Or it might be simply because he cosponsored S. 1545 which would have rewarded illegal aliens under the age of 21 who have been physically present in the country for five years and are in 7th grade or above with amnesty. But then I'm just guessing why Dargo would pick on one of the Senators who seems to be encoraging illegal immigration and not just in a passive way, but he seems to have become the champion of illegal immigrants.

The persons name who (apparently) wrote it is Pete McGlaughlin and this letter has been floating around the internet for awhile.

I can't find whether it's true or not.

I can tell you that what I posted about the Honorable Senator Sarbanes is true.

He is one of the few Senators who is essentially leading the charge to open our borders to ILLEGAL immigrants. As the son of a LEGAL immigrant I am all in favor of LEGAL immigration but I have some real problems with ILLEGAL immigration and the support thereof.

Why did you post this with such tiny print???????

I guess I didn't think he was singling out Senator Sarbanes. I looked at it as he was attacking the system. But if Bob is right about Sarbanes then Sarbanes should be attacked as far as I am concerned. And I am rigth with Dargo, I would love to give out $2,000 in penalties in exchange for the taxes I pay each year.

Bob, what the hell is with this new font that no one can read:hide: :yum:

Murph

Yes, yes, and yes. :thumb: Indeed, I was not the author, but apparently the "Pete" fella wasn't either. I've seen several names signed to the letter. That is why I left that blank. However, Bob hit most of the reasons why I felt the need to post the letter here.

To be simply blunt, why should an illegal alien be afforded more benefits and rights than me when I've paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes to our government in my life? I'm more from the camp that is ready to offer people a hand up, not a hand out. I also think the named senator is a disgrace. We all know why he is doing what he is doing, don't we?!
